When did you stop using the infant seat
And start using the bigger car seat??? I know a lot if the bigger ones say they are for infants too, so I'm curious about when I should stop using the infant seat.

Our infant seat had a weight limit of 22 pounds and 29 inches I think.
She didn't hit that until around 10 months old- so that is when we switched her.
I am not a fan of the regular car seat- to me it's a HUGE PIA to get her into and out of that thing...
So we waited to the last possible minute.

With DD1 she was about 13 or 14 months, her sitter then used it until she was 18 months. She still technically fit in it at 3 
With DD2 we are transitioning at 10months. She only has about 1" of growth before her head is 1" away from the top and we are lending the seat to a friend.

My first 3 babies we switched at 4 months. My 4th baby has been in a convertible since birth!

DD was 1/2 inch away from the height limit at 9 1/2 months when we switched her.

4 months and i would have switched him sooner if i knew the reason he cried everytime he was in the car was bc he hated his infant car seat!

we stopped using it around 11 months but by 8-9 months we just kept it in the car and just placed her in then instead of bringing it into the house everyday

We switched DS into the bigger car seat when he was 7 months. He still fit in the infant, but he just looked uncomfortable.
He prefers being more upright in the big seat than reclined in the infant.

DS was 15 months when I switched to the convertible.
We had the Chicco Keyfit 30. The limit was 30lbs and 30 inches. He was 30 inches at 15 months so we switched. LOVED the ease of the infant seat!

DD is 1 and my parents use the Chicco KeyFit30 for her. I have the convertible car seat in my car, but she is in my dad's car more often.
I miss the ease of the infant car seat - esp when she falls asleep! Even though it is HEAVY!

my ds hit the height limit at about 7 months old on the infant seat.
imo ~ use the infant seat for as long as possible. i used to love when he would fall asleep in the car and i could just pop the carrier out and bring him inside. now i have to wake him or sit in the car & wait for him to wake up.

Pretty early. Like 5, 5.5 months. I hated the infant seat. I had the peg perego and it went up to 30lbs, 30 inches. They were nowhere close to that. It just got so heavy and burdensome.

for ds#1 by 10 months and ds#2 just recently at 9 months, I miss it so much already! I wish he could still fit in it but is already 24lbs!

DS is 8mo and he is still in the infant seat. I no longer take it in and out of the car, so it's pretty much like using the convertible car seat. He is on the smaller side (19lbs, 26.5in), so I think we can go a little longer.

Ditto to this. DITTO!
Plus it's easier to wrestle them in and out of it in the comfort of your own home than in the rain/snow, heat etc- with your azz hanging half out of your car the whole time!
