What would you do???
We have a wedding in Jersey on 8/3, DH is in the wedding and we were supposed to stay the night.. At my last Dr. appt (thursday) my Dr. told me no way no how, he doesn't want me going... I'll be about 36 1/2 wks by the wedding. He says since i've been feeling the way I have and with the contractions i've been having he doesn't reccomend it. That's all DH had to hear and he's saying NO WAY.
Would you go and take a chance? I mean i still have 4 more wks by that point?

If your doctor is saying not to go, I would listen and not go. It's not worth it to take that kind of a chance!

Re: What would you do???
What is your doctor worried about? Is it the length of the car ride or being too far from your hospital? How long is the trip from the wedding? Couldn't you go to a Jersey hospital if something happened while you were away?

I agree 100%. Have someone take lots of photos of your DH, but you should stay home and take care of yourself.

According to DH it's about 2 1/2 hours away, the dr. says if i did go into labor he wouldnt want me driving back to NY and I would have to go to a Nj hostpital and deliver there.. Not to happy with that idea to tell you the truth!

Agreed. What if you get stuck in traffic while having bad contractions? Is it worth it?

I'd have DH go and you stay home. If the Dr. says no then I wouldn't chance it.

I wouldnt go personally. I really care about who delivers me if it comes down to something like a C-section. Listen to your doctor.

Most doctors do not want you more than one hour from your hospital after 36 weeks. If you can't get back in time, then your doctor won't be delivering your baby.
Also, I think insurance can be a nightmare for some reason as well.
I had a similar issue, we were living on Staten Island and my whole family went to Easter at my parents in Montauk when I was 36.5 weeks and I couldn't go, it stunk, and obviously I didn't go into labor, but I listened to my doctor

not PG.. but have to agree. Yesterday we went to NJ- what should have been an hour and a half drive took 3 HOURS! because of an accident and then roadwork. And, we spent over an hour just sitting between one exit and the next- so you wouldnt have even been able to get off if you needed to. Just a possiblity to keep in mind....
