My ex-MIL sent a wedding gift to my now DH and I. It was the Bride & Groom cookbook that was gifted to ex-H and I at our wedding. With his name in it and everything. *cringe*

My mil once gave me a sexy nighty. I was so embarrassed. I told her to just get my Starbucks gift cards from now on.
For our first Christmas together when we were just dating, my mom gave my now-DH a package of boxer briefs.

OMG you just reminded me! At my shower, MIL gave me a VERY GRAPHIC piece of lingerie! Like not a cute "bridal" piece.. like a see-through XXX piece. Ridic. & She was all excited about me opening her gift. I literally wanted to crawl under a rock.

I feel your pain! MIL - queen of gifting - gave me a bunch of thong underwear for my birthday one year. Nothing like opening that up in front of your FIL... BIL... Great grandma...
I guess thinking back, the garbage can was better

We invited our close friend's mom and her boyfriend. The boyfriend owns an art studio and gave us a piece of artwork at a wedding gift. It was one of the ugliest things I've ever seen. It's been in my attic for almost 12 years now.

What was the strangest gift you've ever gotten?
When I was single and had just moved into my own home, a friend gave me a light-up figurine of the Virgin Mary as a housewarming gift. Just what a single woman wants a guy to see when he walks in! LOL! Needless to say, I kept that in the closet until I gave it my sister for the church raffle! LOL!

My DH's aunt (God rest her soul) worked in the jewelry business so it wasn't unusual for her to give jewelry. Our first year married she gave me a beautiful pendant (I still wear it for nights out. I love that thing). The next Christmas I got a nightshirt (yes, a nightshirt like Uncle Scrooge wore) with the 7 dwarfs on it.
DH and I still laugh about it. Maybe I pissed her off and didn't realize

I used to have a batshit crazy neighbor who would leave us random gifts. I came home one day to a large (used) shirt hanging on my door and stapled to the inside was one of those giant oversized cards. The card cover was a GIANT picture of Jesus with the crown of thorns that had "to the dearly departed" print on the front. Inside was a picture of her kitchen, a business card for an eye doctor and a map of Nevada.

Before I even read this, I was going to post such a similar story.
Little kids are invited to showers in my family,. and they don't do sexy lingerie etc. The peignoir set gift is the raciest they ever get  My MIL Doesnt know this and gets the Raciest x rated red lingerie Inside the box with my sleazy lingerie was a penis made out of chocolate. Balls, veins, and all.  I took one look at it and shut the box really quickly. 120 people are all staring and I just kinda said hehe thanks heh. She kept yelling "open it! Show everybody!" I just kept shaking my head no. She was adamant about it, so as she got up from her seat to come up and grab the box, she fell flat on her ass! In front of everyone.  Mortified.
