Strangest gift you received for DC?
I'll go first.
Today my elderly neighbor gave my 2 yr old son a RAILROAD spike!!
Yes, it was thoughtful because he is obsessed with Thomas the Train and she hears him constantly yell, 'Train, Choo Choo' over the fence when the LIRR goes by --- but WOW --- a rusty railroad spike is a weapon to a 2 yo!!

Ummm.....
The only thing I can think of at this very moment is that my MIL gave my DS a ceramic mug for Easter when he was around 2

I think the two books 1. I love you forever, and 2. We're going on a bear hunt are the two worst presents DS received. DD received a newborn winter hat with real feathers on it when she was born. I think your RR spike wins though.

I am glad we never got the I Love You Forever book. I read it at my friend's shower b/c everyone gushed over it and I seriously was hysterical laughing. I seriously would not be able to read that book and look at the pictures toward the end and keep a straight face. I get the message but it just was bizarre.

I thought I was missing something when I read the "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" Book, lol!
DS recently received a mini fake pocket knife to go in the pocket of his cargo pants from DH's co-workers. He is 17 months.  They don't have kids yet, but are trying. I need to think of a really good gift for their first born. Hmmm, maybe a railroad spike!

a collectors place for a Christening that says "Child of God"... umm I'm Jewish 
and a really creepy porclain doll that will probably turn into chucky

a tape measure...my son liked to pretend to measure things so it was thoughtful. But he was not even 2.5 at the time and it can be alittle dangerous pulling it out and then it springing back in. They could have got him a play one

Boy clothes from DH's mom AFTER my daughter was born.
My due date was 12/24 do we kind of didn't think I'd have the baby for her 1st Christmas. She was born 12/28, about 3 weeks after Christmas, and obviosuly after DD was bron we got a "Baby's first Christmas ornament."

OMG, my DS was born in late June and one of the grandparents have him a very heavy weight velour sweatsuit size 0-3 months. Of course with the tags ripped off.

At my shower (for twins) I got a blanket from one of my guests. Not strange, but there are/were two babies! Just a little wierd I guess.
