What season do you think is best

to give birth.

again I'm sorry my question key doesn't work.

I have 2 winter kids currently feb and jan. I really don't think I want another winter baby. 1 reason alone. I would like to have outside bday parties. LOL. In your opinion what season do you think is best to have a baby and why.

Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall.....all pros and cons please.

Re: What season do you think is best

Well, being a July baby myself, I absolutely LOVED having pool parties/beach parties growing up. My DD is also born in July.

Cons for me: a lot of my school friends were always away for my bday (July 5)

It was also nice being able to take her out fairly soon for walks, etc. w/o having to bundle her up

Summer! I planned it for my kids to be born in the early/middle summer, as a kid I always wanted my b-day to be in the summer and have pool parties and be outside!

Re: What season do you think is best

Both my kids are October babies and I hated the first few months on maternity leave - it's too cold out to do anything PLUS it was cold and flu season so I felt pretty cooped up

Re: What season do you think is best

Im am preggo now with #2. I had DD in Jan. and I planned this pregnancy to happen in the spring. I feel like it will help a lot just in case of PPD. You can get out of the house whether it just be in teh backyard. Plus, you can possibly have an outdoor party.

I would never have a winter baby again. I think it contributed to my big time baby blues.

Re: What season do you think is best

I had an October baby. While I hated being pregnant towards the end of summer, I didn't mind the change of weather and it getting cold. Since the baby was so small, we didnt go out much for the first 8 weeks anyway. It was also so nice having the baby so close to the holidays - everyone was so excited about that.

It fit perfectly with my teaching job!
I loved not being preg in the hottest part of the summer.
We went out for walks immediately and spent tons of time in the backyeard last summer.
I like June as a birthday month. It's nice that his gift recieving holidays are as spread out as they can be.
He was 6 months for Christmas which was a nice age to enjoy it.

It was great Chat Icon

Re: What season do you think is best

my dd was born on the first day of spring, March 20th

where we live in CHarlotte, the weather is GORGEOUS at that time of year, it was around 72 when I was released from the hospital. We may shoot for a fall baby next (sept - oct)...it really doesn't get cold here until late december Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: What season do you think is best

I have a Dec baby....next time around, I thought I wanted a spring one...but now I am not so sure.

I spent the whole summer outdoors...a lot of the moms around me had their #2's strapped onto them while they were in the pool/park with #1.

At 6 months, I could start the sunscreen and baby will enjoy the water....so maybe another winter or fall baby so that summer can be fun.

Nov/Dec/Jan.

I am going to TRY to plan all of my babies to be winter babies..

I would never want to give birth when its warm and have preggo weight on my body. I would NOT want to leave the house .

Atleast in the winter your covered up so its not bad at all ..

I'd love our next baby to be in the spring/summer/even the fall.
DS was born in Jan. and it was hard.
Really couldn;t get out much and I did have some "baby blues".
I think having another one in any other season will be better. DS can play outside and the newborn could go too.

I say late spring early summer. Since you really shouldn't bring them to crowded places for a few weeks you are not trapped indoors. You can go for walks in the neighborhood, park etc. So you still get to enjoy the beautiful weather. Also not flu/cold/virus season - yes there is always something around but the summer is really when most people are at their healthiest.

I agree with you in that I gave birth to DD in January and would hope to have the second in warmer months so we can do outside parties..

Spring! I had DD in April and it was a great time of the year because I started taking her out for walks soon after she was born.
