Re: What season do you think is best
I had a June baby and it was great because I was able to get out and exercise with Jared. Now that I'm having a baby in October, I probably won't be getting out that much in the colder weather.
Thank godness for my treadmill.

Well, being a July baby myself, I absolutely LOVED having pool parties/beach parties growing up. My DD is also born in July.
Cons for me: a lot of my school friends were always away for my bday (July 5)
It was also nice being able to take her out fairly soon for walks, etc. w/o having to bundle her up
ITA with all of this. I am due in Feb this time and I am already fearing the cabin fever I will have.
DH is born in early Feb and he always had snow for his b-day growing up!

Re: What season do you think is best
I have a Sept & June baby. Even with summer & fall babies, you still need a contingency plan in case of rain.
I think my birthday month (May) was always the best. I had new clothes at the start of the school year, new clothes in the winter for the holidays & new clothes for summer for my birthday. It was like hitting every season!
The only thing I don't like about having a Sept birthday is I have to plan a bday party not knowing how many kids are going to be in the class or who will be invited because I'm inviting the class & a few close friends.
eta. the only thing I cared about in terms of time of year was having a birthday during the school year.

Spring! But if we go for 3 only #3 will actually make it in the spring. DS is winter (Feb) and hopefully the next will be late summer/early fall next year.

Re: What season do you think is best
I was due May 17th and IMO it was the best time to be pregnant! I avioded being pregnant in the heat, and it was the perfect weather for a baby to be born. And nice weather for parties. DS was born 2 weeks late though on May 31st.

Re: What season do you think is best
For us living down south, April is the best month. that is when I had DD#1. ETA: If I were still living up on LI I would want a June baby.

Re: What season do you think is best
I have a fall baby, a summer baby and a spring baby. fall baby was the worst for getting through the summer but was still my fave season to give birth.
I was lucky enough to never be really big in the winter where i needed a maternity winter coat or had to worry about being huge and slipping on ice.

my dd was born on the first day of spring, March 20th
where we live in CHarlotte, the weather is GORGEOUS at that time of year, it was around 72 when I was released from the hospital. We may shoot for a fall baby next (sept - oct)...it really doesn't get cold here until late december
So is Ryan and while I live here in NY, I found it to be a great time. Downside is we'll have to have indoor bday parties - but it was great to have the weather warming as he was able to leave the house.

DS was born in early May, and I loved it. When we TTC # 2, we will try to plan it so the baby is born between April-June.

Re: What season do you think is best
I have one spring and one summer. late spring was fantastic for me becuase I didn't have to be pregnant during the dog days of summer, because I wasn't afraid to take him out almost immediately after birth and because we can still have nice outdoor bday parties! Plus my older son loves having his special day in school.
Summer is nice too. The being pregnant in July part wasn't much fun - but parties with water guns and slip and slides is pretty exciting for them!
I would love to have an October baby for some reason though. No idea why!

Re: What season do you think is best
I had my son at the end of June and have LOVED it!!!
I definitely don't think i'd like to have a winter baby. too dark and too depressing. I like getting out of the house and having more sunlight during the day.

Ben is a June baby and I loved having him during the summer. I was outside with him from the time he was about 3 weeks old. When we have another one, I'd like another Spring/Summer baby.

Re: What season do you think is best
I'd say late spring because it's not too hot yet, but the weather is pretty much guaranteed to be nice for a long stretch of time. DD was born May 6 and it worked out very nicely. We were able to take her outside pretty much right away and have enjoyed going for walks almost every day this summer without having to get all bundled up!

Re: What season do you think is best
Both DC are May, and we tried to plan it around that time frame.
1. Basically no worries about going into labor during a winter storm. 2. DC have all school year to make friends to invite to b-day parties. 3. Early enough so that school finals haven't started yet, so kids can come to b-day parties. 4. No major holidays nearby, so no dual-purpose gifts, and most friends are available for b-day parties. 5. As soon as DC is born, you can take them on walks outside.
DW's b-day is near Thanksgiving, and a lot of her school friends couldn't come to some parties since they were going to Grandma's house. My niece's b-day is near Christmas, so b-days are hard to schedule, and she gets a lot of b-day/Christmas gifts, so I think she gets gyped out of her own day....

My son is a January baby, NEVER again. I am hoping for my next baby to be born between April - September. Not too pick on the exact time...but sometime when the weather isn't winter

Spring. I had my baby in March and it was perfect... spring was a few weeks away... then summer. He has been out in the sun enjoying the great weather. I am glad I didn't have to keep him indoors bundled from winter.

Re: What season do you think is best
Spring would be very nice, but I can't say having a winter baby was so bad. I was depressed, but that had more to do with hormones than the time of year. Plus, I never want to do that much in winter anyway, so it was a great time to slow down, recover, and get to know my baby. Plus you can cover up with big, bulky clothes till you lose the baby weight. And you can go out--I took loads of walks this winter.
The only season I can say sounds awful to me is summer. I cannot imagine being big and giving birth in July or August. I was a summer child too, and I was never so fond of having my birthday then. My friends were often away, and I always wanted to bring cupcakes to school.

Re: What season do you think is best
I have Sept, April and Oct babies and April is the BEST time to have a baby!!! The weather is perfect for parties and all the kids need a good party to go to!!
Being pregnant from Feb. thru Oct. was the WORST!! I felt like i was pregnant forever and everyone would say"You're still pregnant?!" Also I stayed soooo cooped up in my house all winter(after the baby was born) because it was so cold and everyone was sick! It was hard to go anywhere! One thing I am looking forward to is lots of fun harvest parties for my little guy!!!

Re: What season do you think is best
I like my son's Bday (Aug 30th) because I love the summer and love the idea of outdoor parties. I'm a teacher, and I also liked having the end of the pregnancy off. I'm dreading starting work 9 months pregnant this time around!

Re: What season do you think is best
I had DS in April and loved having a Spring baby! You miss most of the summer during the first trimester, so you're a little more comfortable in your pregnancy. Having DS in the Spring is great because it's not too cold and not too hot. I didn't worry too much about him getting a cold (wintertime) or overheating (summertime). Best of all, we plan on doing DS's first birthday in our backyard next April!
