If you liked the movie you should read the book...A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. It is fantastic.



ITA. Phenomenal book. So moving. I've never actually been able to sit through the movie, though. I think because the book is so embedded in my brain.

Schindlers list, but mostly because of the context.

I saw it in a tiny theatre in Great Neck, and every single seat was taken, and the theatre was filled by about 90% jews, all wearing Yarmulkes, many of which were much, much older - quite a few survivors.

When the movie ended, no one moved. Not even a flinch for a good 10 minutes. All you could hear was crying. Very soft weeping.

It was very sobering.
