Chewie's home from the VET! Update on 2nd page.
I've never done this, but it seems to work. Sorry it's so long. Here goes . . .
My Mom was given a puppy a few months ago. Someone found him and couldn't keep him so, he got a great home with us - DH and I live upstairs from my Mom. We named him Chewie. She took the day off today to take him to the vet for his second round of boosters. Now, the last couple of days he's sounded funny - like he's got a cold or something. Doc does an exam and one of his Assistants take him into the back to clip his paws. She comes back out and said he "totally freaked out" and she couldn't cut them. Then they take him to the scale to weigh him, and he starts acting funny. Choking kind of. Then he start puking - bloody stuff. Poor little guy. The doctor does an x-ray of his little tummy (after retrieving what looked like a piece of a tennis ball from his rectum) and sees "something" in there. Not quite sure what it is, he hooks him up to an IV and admits him. He was going to give him a barium today and "we'd know more tomorrow". My Mom is beside herself upset. She was inconsolable when on the phone with me earlier. We're all pretty bummed right now, and I feel awful for my Mom.
I know you guys have an awful lot going on, and you have people to pray for, but if you could just keep him in mind, I'd be grateful.

Tons of for your mom's pup. Hope he has a speedy recovery and that he heals fast....It must be though for your mom. You definitely can become very attached to your pups and if something goes wrong with them, it definitely affects you.

Thanks so much you guys!!
I just called the vet's office and the receptionist immediately knew who I was calling for. "Oh, I just love him! I wonder what he ate, you certainly named him right." She said she walked back there first thing to see him and he was all excited - which is good because my Mom said he was really lathargic yesterday. She said the vet is off today but someone would call today with the results of the barium. If whatever it is, passes, he can go home tomorrow.
