What is your Xmas tree decorating style?
Classy? Festive? Fun? Colorful?
My DH and I have this agruement every year! I love to decorate with lots of color and love the "gingerbread house" look - for inside and the tree. He likes the classy all silver and white look for the tree.
What do you guys do?

I will be putting up 2 trees (well, 4 if you count the little ones in both my boys' bedrooms  ).
My Living room tree is about 90% Lenox ornaments with other gold, silver and crystal ornaments. Gold ribbon cascades and a bow topper. Very "fancy" as my kids call it.
My Family Room tree (first time I'm doing one is this year), will have all of the kids ornaments (personalized; sports; characters....whatever). And whatever ornaments I have that don't "go" with the Lenox tree. But I will still also use the gold ribbon and bow topper. The kids wanted all of their ornaments displayed this year and they had too many for their individual trees, so another family tree, it is.

we do white lights, lots of gold ornaments, ribbon on top...i  our tree, can't wait to put it up this year!

Yup, us too. DH thinks that a tree doesn't have enough lights on it if you don't see an afterimage after looking at it!  I go for the gingerbread house look too!

Only white lights, gold and silver ornaments with some deep reds/burgundys mixed in. Simple/elegant I guess is what I'd call it.
Once the kid(s) start making ornaments I'm sure it will change to colorful.

No style. We do have a lot of red and gold ornaments though, as well as red and gold garland. The rest is a mish-mosh with multi-colored lights.

White lights, but anything goes with ornaments. Most of our ornaments have meaning, either from travel or hobbies or events, but I also have many from students I can't part with.

We do bright and colorful.
We collect ornaments from our travels and as gifts to one and other. We also "stole" some favs from our parents.
I love our tree and can't wait to put it up

our ornaments are pink, gold/silver, and ivory. I want a new tree topper since the angel DH uses scares the crap out of me and doesn't go with our theme.

i call it colorful and meaningful
i collect ornaments when we travel so i hav all those, from when i was in my late teens and started doing it til now. plus wedding ones, ones for the kids etc. I love my tree....it's like a trip down memory lane. 
when the kids get older i would love to put a fancy one in the LR, because I LOVE how they look and keep our family one for the family room.

Decorating style is colorful - white lights, bubble lights and 1 strand of guitar lights (for DH). All of the ornaments on our tree are either:
1. Ornaments with our names that we have been collecting since the first year we were together (18 years)
2. An ornamnet from every place we have traveled
3. 6 years of police ornaments (1 for every year of DH's service
4. handmade my someone in my family (the women on my father's side of the family make ornaments every year and we exchange - instead of presents).

If it were up to just me, I'd do only white lights with gold and silver themed ornaments and decor....
however, DH loves the FUN of it all...so our tree has the inside with 1 set of colored lights with white on the outer portion with a mixture of ornaments and glittery balls lol

Dining Room: I consider it Festive! White lights (it's a prelit tree otherwise I'd have multi-color lights on there...although this post has inspired me to maybe put multi-color lights on it as well. ), various European mouthblown Santa glass ornaments (along with some snowmen and other misc glass ornaments), red & green beads...mainly red, green & white coloring.
*Dining Room Tree*
Family Room: Colorful! Multi-color lights, lots of colorful & glittered shatterproof ornaments, red ribbons.
(no good pics of that tree.)

I just say simple & pretty. All white lights. Glass ornaments in red & silver with sequined red & silver ornaments. I have Silver flakes & an offset of pretty smaller ornaments of red & silver with soem white. I also have glass icicles & no matter what i have to have my BLUE WITH PINSTRIPES YANKEES ORNAMENTS (only 2). lol

Diningroom: formal or what DH likes to call "snotty" white lights, big gold ribbons, lenox and swarovski crystal ornaments-all cream and gold. Den: colored flashing lights, plaid ribbons, all the kids ornaments- much more fun and traditional for the kids.
