What is your electric Bill monthly?
I am going to freak last couple of months I am paying $210 a month. THis is freaken insane expecially with the oil prices so High.  Sorry needed to vent

We haven't been paying anything over $100 since the summer. All our appliances are electric, but we haven't had any too high and they pull to the side of the house and read our meter on the side of the house each month.

I don't think we've ever paid over $80/month.
ETS: We also have a small home and are rarely there. We're very conscious of turning off lights/TVs when we are there.

I'm about $90 - $100 a month but I pay every 60 days (I don't do the budget). My bill is usually $190ish every 60 days except at the end of the summer - that bill is about $400.

Pretty sure ours run about $80 a month... not including the summer months when we run AC.
(one of my "other" jobs is to follow DH around the house and turn off all the lights he leaves on!!!  )

We avg $80 with more in the summer for AC. We have a gas stove and dryer so that helps. We also switched alot of bulbs to compact flourescents and I think that makes a difference.

This was happening to us when we first moved into our house. We also have a fairly large house (about 4000 sq ft). DH kept saying it was that much because the house is big. I started checking the meter readings against the bill and found discrepencies. There was also a problem earlier on with the meter for the gas and it had to be recalibrated or something. In any event, we received a huge credit with PSE&G. So big, we didn't have to pay a bill for 6 months.
Now our bills avg between $250-$350 per month.
ETA: Now, I call in the meter readings myself so I know they are accurate.

How do you go about calling in your own meter readings?? I suspect there are major discrepancies.....

about $120-$140. We have propane for cooking and oil heat and everything else is electric. My highest bill this summer was $156.

This month the bill was $90. The month before it was $18, which was obviously a mistake, so the $90 is higher than it would normally have been.
