I'm pretty neat so just:
alarm clock
picture of me with friends
bottled water
book
chapstick
everything else is in the drawer like calender, checkbook, pens, etc
DH is a slob:
lots of reciepts
papers from work
wallet and whatever change he has
alarm clock
water bottles (some are empty)
pic of me (I put that there) LOL
chapstick
and whatever else is in his pocket he dumps out... sometimes some tool.

lamp, flowers and candles. i like to keep the items on nightstand minimal. the rest of the "junk" is thrown in the nightstand drawer.

Well, I've only been in my new apartment for two weeks so right now I only have a lamp, a box of tissues and my remote. I am positive that once I've been living there for a while, it will get cluttered with crap. lol

On my side: A lamp on a crochet doily, the small phone base with cordless phone and a jewelry stand (it's a mini mannequin wearing a pretty gown) and on hanging from it I have my garter on on top of it I have my tiara.
On DH's side: A lamp on the doily, the alarm clock and a pretty box with decorative candles in it.
I keep the remote under our pillows after I make the bed because I hate having it out on the nightstand and I keep the fan remote in our nightstand.
I am a fanatic for tidiness and everything has a place...I only have decorative stuff out anywhere in my house and there is never anything that doesn't belong out lol I drive Dh nuts with thsi!
