What age did you start using a high chair and what age did you stop?

I'm trying to figure out if it's worth buying a high chair to keep up in NY when we come up for summers. Also, once the baby started solids - before high chair - what did you feed them in - bouncer?

Started at 3 months. We also used the Bumbo seat for feeding when we first started cereals at 3 months, but he sat up fine in the chair even then.

I'd either buy a used one for NY (I bought a used one for my mom's house for $25--you could check on the buy/sell thread on here!), or get one of the space saver high chairs that goes on a regular seat (easier to store--my MIL has one of these, and I have one to bring if we go somewhere else).

Started using it around 4.5 months and DD is 2.5 and we still use it.

He started sitting in it at about 4 months when he started rice cereal. We used it until he was about 18 months and then he started sitting in a booster seat

Used the Bumbo from 11 weeks - 8 months. We only stopped at 8 months because he had surgery on his penis and was not allowed to sit in anything of that nature for 3 months. So we switched to the FP Booster seat($20) -



He will be 2 next month and we are still using it. I imagine we will continue to use it for at least the next year. We eat our meals at our island which uses high chairs. So when the time comes he will sit in the booster without the tray.

Never used a high chair.

DS was in his high chair around 5 months.
DD was in it about 6/7 months.
Now, I plan on packing away the highchair because they both do even better in booster seats..

Started at 6 mths when she started solids. Still using at 18 mths now. I also own the FP booster seat and that is awesome for travel and restaurants.

Starting around 4-5 months. By around 18mos we transferred her to a booster seat.

started using it at 6 months old. Stopped using it at 19 months.

We used the bumbo for a month for feedings then used the highchair from 5 months to 17 months, now we use a booster seat.

We put her in the highchair yesterday for the first time (she will be 5 months this week) but she definitely could have gone in it earlier. I didn't realize that the one i had reclined so I would have put her in there probably at like 3 months

we have a graco hi chair that has an infant cushion built in. so by december..ds was 2 months..i would sit him in it just to sit him in something different. he would play with little toys on it. it would help me to have him in there while doing dishes, making bottles, etc. and he liked being in the kitchen watching me.

he's 7 months now and still in the same chair and thats where i feed him his oatmeal, fruits and veggies. Bottles..i usually sit him on the couch.

We have an older hi chair at MIL's house in brooklyn which comes in handy. Her neighbor gave it to her so we didnt have to spend money on one which was nice.

started about 5 months old and stopped about 2.5 yrs when his brother started to need it

We have the FP Space Saver and have been using it since DD was 4 months.

My kids still eat every meal in their high chairs(18 months today!) I also have two portable booster type things that we put them in when we are not at home

We have a portable booster seat. Is DS too little for that at 5/6 months? Maybe we should just bring that up with us.
