What age did you stop using the high chair?

DS will be 23 months soon and he looks big to be in the high chair, not too big, just big. I love it for security and that its soft and easy to clean. DH is sick of it taking up so much space in the dining room Chat Icon and I am wondering when you all stopped using yours and what did you do after? A booster seat?

We switched to a booster seat at like 17 months. He refused the highchair anymore. He barely uses the booster even now, prefers to just sit in a chair at 26 months. For us it helped him with food, he felt more "grown up"....stopped throwing food etc.

DD still loves the highchair at home. She turned 3 in May. Away from home, she never wants anything, not even a booster. Since it doesn't bother us one way or the other, we let her sit the way she likes.

My DD is almost 2 and a half and she's been out of the high chair for a long time- I don't ever remember when we stopped using it. But she is big for her age and she was so squirmy so we had her in a booster for a while. Now she just sits in the chair. Once in a while, in restaurants, she wants the high chair, but it's a tight fit. Chat Icon

DD is a tall 2 & she's still in her chair; although some nights she asks to sit in "mommy's chair" (regular chair at the table). At the grandparents' houses she's in booster seats.

DS is 2 today and has been sitting in a regular chair for the past few weeks. we have been eating outside alot so that helps with the mess that he still makes. But he never wants to go in his chair any more so its pretty much done with.

Re: What age did you stop using the high chair?

DD is 2 and is still in the highchair at home. She's perfectly fine in it and easts well. When it's time to eat something she'll ask to go into her highchair.

If we're at my parents she'll use the booster....out in restaurants either a booster or a highchair.

It makes no difference with her. She's fine doing whichever.

Jack eats breakfast in the highchair still - he is 25 months. I like to keep him on lockdown in there long enough to eat my own breakfast and check my emails.

He eats lunch and dinner at his little table and chairs.

We stopped the high chair at 14 months and are in a booster pulled up to the table. When we go out to eat we like to sit in booths and he will sit or stand at the table depending upon the height of the booth.

We switched at about 19 months because she liked all her friends booster seats. It also saved us room in the kitchen so I didn't object. Chat Icon

Re: What age did you stop using the high chair?

Victoria still eats her dinner in her highchair. She eats breakfast and lunch at her kiddie table but without DH at home for dinner and a newborn that wants to be held all the time, I need to have her strapped in while eating. She loves being in it (we have the fisher price space saver and sometimes we just leave the tray off and push her up to the table)
