We're home now!!
I am so excited to be home with our new baby girl, Lily Miriam. We are so in love. She is absolutely, completely amazing. She was definitely worth the hard time I went through.
We got to the hospital at 7:30 am on Friday for my induction. They gave me fluids & an antibiotic for the strep B. I was contracting on my own, but got pitocin to speed things along. My doctor broke my water at around 1 (I think - it's all a blur now.) at this point I was 3 cm dilated. The contractions really started to hurt at around 3:30-4:00 so I asked for an epidural. I loved the epidural. I felt great after that. When I got the epidural I was 5 cm dilated. 3 hours later I was still 5 cm. At around 8 my doctor said he didn't think I was going to be able to get the baby out. She had gone back up and was no longer down low. So we decided on the c-section. We got bumped by 2 emergencies and finally got in there at around 9:30. Lily was born at 10:22. We were so surprised. We were convinced it was a boy. I even had a dream it was a boy the night before. We were thrilled though. She really didn't want to come out though - they even had to use a vacuum during the c-section. After they got her out was the tough part. My uterus would not contract on its own so the doctor tried 3 different drugs to get the bleeding to stop. Nothing was working so he finally had to put in a special stitch, which did work. But I lost alot of blood. Everything is fine now. I feel great. I'm a little scared to be home from the hospital. The nurses were great. I hope we will be able to handle it all on our own.
