Well I now have yet another sinus infection
I had one last week....and thankfully had a refill on a presciption so I didn't go to the doctor! WELL NOW I have a sinus infection that is 10X worse than the other one...My head and face are throbbing

Have you been to an ENT yet? I had chronic sinus infections which my PCP kept on diagnosing as such. I went to an ENT and needed surgery to fix the issue.

Maybe you can ask for a different antibiotic. I know you can sometimes grow immune to antibiotics if taken too regularly.

I'm doing the same, however I heard they don't pack your nose anymore...so I think I'm going to do it, bc Ive had a sinus headache for a month now.

I have chronic sinusitis and I'm on my 4th ENT. The first 3 came to final conclusions that I NEEDED to have the surgery (which is why I kept switching). The doctor I'm seeing now is wonderful and has not mentioned surgery in the 2.5 years that I've been going there.
A good ENT really is your best bet if you are suffering recurrent sinus infections. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

Do you smoke? I've had chronic sinus infections for years. I had the surgery, but still got them but not as frequently. Now that I don't smoke I hardly ever get them. The surgery wasn't that bad. The packing was the worse part.

what does the surgery entail? I get sinus infections from December through February...I cancelled my ENT appt...but want to prepare for the upcoming season w/ knowledge/info...

I just had this surgery in June, and I feel so much better. I had a lot of swelling after, but no black eyes. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought.
I am breething so much better, and when i went for my 3 month post-op appt. a couple of weeks ago, my doctor said I was healing nicely. He said in another 3 months I should be breathing much, much better.
I'm VERY glad I had the surgery, and I'm looking forward to a sinus-infection-free winter for the first time in maybe a dozen years!

I get sinus headaches all the time and it seems like every cold becomes a sinus infection. The Neti Pot has been my best friend since I've tried it! It's amazing!!! It sounds weird, but once you get over that, it's the best and natural too. I hate having to take too many drugs.

No...never have. Was the victim of my mother's second hand smoke but I don't live at home anymore

Yes, it really does work.
When DH and I first met, I had a raging sinus infection... I swear I teach in a sick building (mold, etc.) and would get them at least three times a year. He told me about the neti-pot and I remember being  about it. I googled it and there were 1,000,000 sites about it... meanwhile I NEVER heard of it before
It really does work. I was desperate and bought one. It takes getting used to. You have to really watch your breathing as you pour the water in... it's also all in the head tilt.
Most people think it's  but I'd rather try to irrigate my nose than stick more chemicals in my body.
Plus, it's worked in India for centuries. Oh, and they are cheap... I think mine was less than $10.
I'd do it every night, even after this infection clears, to keep the irritants out of your nose.

i got mine at walgreens. it was near all the sinus stuff, in a box. i believe the company was sinucleanse (not sure if I spelled that one correctly). I also use it almost daily and it has helped me with my allergies, too, big time!
