Re: Weight?
I guess it is all part of being pregnant. I cant figure it out myself. If I were sitting home eating donuts and chips maybe it would make since.

Re: Weight?
I follow a GD diet that I had to follow during my last pregnancy...I do cheat mind you BUT it usually balances out at the weeks end....up until this week I was following an 1800 calorie per day diet..I am 5'8" tall..this week we added 200 more calories...This is still less calories than I ate before I got pregnant..and at 28+ weeks I have gained a total of 23 pounds!!!!!! 10lbs of which I gained before my 8 week appointment where I couldnt even hold down much food or didnt feel like eating at all!!!!!!!!! I dont really care b/c I always lose the weight..at least this time around I know its not from pigging out!

Re: Weight?
Some days I eat more than normal b/c I get so hungry!!! Most days I eat as I always did (but I don't work out anymore) and there are very few days I am not hungry at all. Usually if I eat a lot one day, the next day I'm not so hungry.
I gained 16lbs and I'll be 27 weeks on Saturday. I only notice a little weight gain in my arms & legs...my legs look chubby to me now!! but I'm thinking its mostly belly, water, extra blood, etc. I hope I don't gain too much more...I'll be happy w/a 35lb total.

Re: Weight?
Unless you are gaining MASSIVE amounts of weight or have a medical condition I really wouldn't stress too much about what you are eating.

Re: Weight?
I've been soooooooo hungry I probably eat 5 times more than I usually do, but I usually don't eat all that much. At my last (first) doctor's appointment I had gained 1lb and I was 7 1/2 weeks.
But I really don't think I'm eating a lot -- my normal breakfast and then a piece of fruit about an hour later, then my normal lunch followed by another piece of fruit or nuts or something to keep me from passing out, then normal dinner, which I actually finish now and then maybe a snack later, maybe not. I never used to snack very much at all so that's where the difference is.
I have a couple of pre-natal workout dvds that I have to start using.

Re: Weight?
I've gained about 10 by now, but it was 8 about 3 weeks ago, so I am estimating. My scale at home says less than 10, and the scale at the doc's office is always about 6-7 lbs heavier than my digital at home...... , but they are the same at measuring the gain.
2 lbs is great, some people even lose due to m/s.
I don't eat more than normal, well, maybe a little! But nothnig too crazy.
I'll eat later in the evening now than before when I was trying to lose. And I'll eat not so good for you foods a little mor often, but you will NEVER see me eat a whole bag of chips ot a pint of ice cream!!!!

Re: Weight?
My weight is all screwed up. I lost 4 pounds last week due to a stomach virus, so right now I am one pound heavier than I started. I want to eat like a pig so i can get my weight up. I feel like i should have gained more so far.

Re: Weight?
My doctor told me at my first appt in my first pregnancy that the amount of calories I should be comsuming extra per day is equal to about 1 cookie. He stressed that I am not eating for 2.
I admit, that I eat more than I normally do. I feel like crap, feel really fat and large and don't care. Normally I watch what I eat daily and only treat myself to ice cream, etc once per week. But when I am preggo, I honestly don't care. I had an extra 15 lbs left over after my son was born to lose and I lost it on WW rather quickly.

Re: Weight?
I think in general the answer is everyone is different and every pregnancy is different. You have no clue how your body will handle pregnancy and how you will feel. I do think some people use pregnancy as an excuse to eat whatever but I know otehrs that eat normal and gain quickly and more.
I know with my first I gained weight quickly and all over. I evened out eventually and gained in the "acceptable/normal" range for someone my height and weight. This pregnancy - it took me about 17 weeks before I gained a pound and I definitely do not watch what I eat and eat much worse than I did with my first pregnancy. I was 21+ weeks before I hit the 5lb mark - I actually started to think something was wrong. I am pretty much all belly this time. Totally different but same person!
