Re: Wedding gift...How do I write the check?
I write it out to Mr & Mrs.
I wouldn't write cash in case the checks were stolen.
I really don't have sympathy for anyone who has so many checks that signing their name is a PIA. I wish I had that problem

Re: Wedding gift...How do I write the check?
I either write it out to Mr. and Mrs. Groom OR I write it out to just one of them (bride's maiden or groom).
I would say all but one or two checks we received at our wedding were made out to Mr. and Mrs. Groom. We had no problems depositing them. (Then again, we have joint bank accounts.)

Re: Wedding gift...How do I write the check?
I would not write a check to "cash" or give cash in a card for a wedding - there's ALWAYS a possibility for some envelopes to get stolen or lost.
The best way I think is to write Bride Maidenname OR Groom Lastname. Like someone said above, that way either of them can deposit the check with no problem.
Most of our checks were written to Mr. & Mrs. Marriedname and we actually had NO problem depositing them all, but I wonder if that's partly because we have a joint account. I know some couples do NOT have a joint account and that can create issues if a check is written out to Mr. & Mrs. etc.

Re: Wedding gift...How do I write the check?
We always write it out to the person we are closest too.
I don't feel comfortable writing Mr. and Mrs. because what if the bride is not taking the grooms name? I didn't take my husbands name. We had a lot of our checks written this way and it was a pain in the *** to cash them.

Re: Wedding gift...How do I write the check?
I usually give cash, but if I were writing the check I would make it out to cash.. esp if she hasn't changed her name yet..

Re: Wedding gift...How do I write the check?
I NEVER write the check out to cash. If they lose it, or envelopes go missing (which does happen) anyone can cash it!!
I always write it the ther person I know i.e the brides name if she is my friend.
Most of our checks were written to Mr. & Mrs. His last name and I didn't have any truble depositing them, we just wrote for deposit only on the back and the account #.
I used to give cash until someone on here told me how bad that was, I didn't think about envelopes getting taken or lost.

Re: Wedding gift...How do I write the check?
I put
Adrianna Txxx and/or Chris Sxxxxxxxx
That way it can go into either account and it doesn't have be endorsed by both parties.

Re: Wedding gift...How do I write the check?
Since we were the first of our friends to get married, and I saw what a nitemare it was to deposit the checks. I now write it out either to the bride with her maiden name or the groom.

I write....
"Bride's maiden name OR groom's name"
That way either of them can cash it and it doesn't matter if they have a joint acct or not.
same here
most of our wedding checks said "Mrs & Mrs NewLastName" and we had no trouble at all at the bank.

honestly i would never, ever make a check out to cash. i would feel horrible if the check was stolen - and yes, this does happen, even at the nicest reception halls.
i always make the check out to whoever we are closest to, either the groom or the bride with her maiden last name.
This is exactly what I do and why.
Us too. I would never write a check out to cash.
I started writing the checks out to either the Bride or the Groom after we got married and it took us a while to cash checks that were written out to both of us.
