I had always bought the 3 in 1 jacket from The Children's place until last year. They stopped making the hood removable. I don't like the thick hood behind DD in the carseat. I like the option of adding the hood on only when it is needed...I put a hat on them instead.

I just got my DS a northface-hes 13 months. I want to keep him warm...but dont want the bulk in the carseat...I think its perfect! Plus hes never out in the cold for long....just in and out of the car.

This! Best warm thin jacket for car seats. Lands end also frequently has 30-40% off coupons.
