advice winter jacket

DD is a sold 18-24 months right now but its only october and a winter jacket needs to last through at least the next 5 months until March. Should I buy a 2T or will that be too big right now and I really will need an 18-24 now and pick up a 2T at the end of the season?

TIA

I would buy the 2t. You can always cuff the ends of the sleeves if you have to.

Re: advice winter jacket

I would either buy two coats or just one in a larger size. The problem with waiting I found is that there never is anything left in the size I want when I need it. For next year what I do is get the larger size at the end of the season on sale so I buy what I need at a price I want to pay. Sometimes, though I cannot find a winter coat in the sizes I need at the end of the season. However, Costco has winter coats out now for about $19 so that might be something to look into.

I'm going to say it depends on the coat. My DD is wearing mostly 2T now. I bought the Lands End Squall jacket for her and it's huge. Over the weekend I found a jacket in Target and it has a smaller fit, so the 2T works well for that one.

And like a PP said, you may not find what you need at the end of the season. It seems like stores are one season ahead. After Christmas they'll probably be putting summer stuff out lol.

I was in the same boat and I bought DD a 2T Lands End Squall Jacket when they were on sale, that was the smallest size it came in. It's HUGE on her, comes down past her knees but if we go out to play in the snow I'll put it on her. I also have a cheapy coat I got at BRU last year at the end of the season that still fits her. I figure the Squall jacket will probably fit her well next year and possibly again the following haha.

Re: advice winter jacket

If it's too big, it might be uncomfortable to wear. I made that mistake last year when I ordered a Lands End jacket for my DS. Maybe it will fit him this year. Chat Icon

You could buy 2 different size coats now. If you wait until even February, you might not find the size you need.

FYI, Carters and Osh Kosh let you return any time as long as you have a receipt and the items are new/unworn/with tags. I just returned a bunch of summer pajamas that I bought last April. Chat Icon
