I have a theory on the reanimating.....
Andrea's sister took a while to reanimate, and when she did, she didn't attack right away. Sophia was so docile when she came out of the barn as a walker.... Still childlike.
Shane turned right away though.
I think the more purer of heart and the more you are surrounded by loved ones, the slower and more docile you are to turn. Shane was already pretty bad to the bone, so he turned right away. They even showed the "rush" that went through him immediately upon death.
I think Shane broke Randall's neck to make it look like he tripped and fell when he was running, and not like a murder. He should have known though that Darryl would figure it out....
I had a thing for Shane ever since that head shaving scene. He was hot as hell in that scene!!!
But, I have a weird thing for Darryl..... I know, I know. I'm weird!
I cried like a b$itch when Dale died. I just loved him!!! He was such a great character!!!!!
I was kinda thinking the same way. Though it really did seem like Shane was infected BEFORE he died- the heavy panting and he was just really twitchy and kept slapping himself like trying to snap himself out of something. At the time I thought he was just talking himself into killing the kid or leaving with him but I'm not so sure.
I KNEW Shane was going to kill Rick, because STUPID Laurie had to go and have a conversation about what WAS with Shane.  I can't STAND that woman!!
And nope, not weird at all. I LOVE Darryl. But I've loved him since his days in Boondock Saints (awesome movie, if you haven't seen it already- WATCH IT!). I couldn't stand Dale though. I thought of him as the character that nobody likes but is just there to voice differing opinions and pass along info and move the plot along. I certainly am not going to miss him. In fact, he should've taken Andrea with him. She annoys the crap outta me, too!
Carl actually didn't bother me until this past episode. But even still, I kinda feel for him. He's just a kid!

i just watched this last night and am dying to see next week!!
I totally agree with your theory btw... DH and i were discussing the same thing after the episode. Wondering if the more 'evil' you are in life, the quicker or more easy you turn to a walker
I was totally freaked out by those flashbacks/snippets of walker teeth and tearing of flesh that was going on when Rick first killed Shane - i had no idea what that was all about! Was that in Rick's head?
And, i also thought Carl was going to do something really stupid and shoot Rick instead of Shane. I know he's just a kid.. but man is he annoying!
Shane never did anything for me, but I definitely see Darryl's appeal!

I never thought about the theory you guys are describing - like if you are more pure of heart/innocent, its takes you a little longer to turn into a walker as opposed to turning right away. But it makes some sense...wonder if this is what the writers are getting at as well.
Also, those flashing images of walker teeth and stuff that Rick was having was freaky! what was that all about!!!!!

I love Darryl too! I remember seeing him in Messengers 2, The scarecrow, and thinking he was nice looking then! There is just something about him!! His character is my all time favorite on this show. He has all the brains, but nobody even gives him credit...I'm hoping he gets far on this show!

I thought they were showing that as if it was shane turinging into a walker?? I dont think rick saw it, it was more of what shane was feeling, atleast thats how i took it

That's what I thought.... That was all going through Shane. I knew as soon as Randall was discovered as a zombie with no bites that it was Shane reanimating!

Season 3 starts up again in October with 16 episodes. Cannot wait!
What I found for Season 3.
The Governor is the leader of a large group of survivors and in Season 3 of The Walking Dead he will bring pain and suffering to the Grimes family and Rick will regret the day that they ever crossed paths.
This had me thinking all day! Imagine if the Governor is Merle (Darryl's brother)..definitely sounds right up his alley with how he acts, and that definitely would bring a whole new dynamic since Darryl has gotten close to a few in his group. Sucks we have to wait till October!!!

I thought it was when Shane was turning, but I don't know, the way they shot it I took it as Rick was seeing it. I felt really bad for Rick- that Shane and Laurie made him do that. They really forced his hand. I mean, he doesn't have it altogether, but he's a good man and he's just trying to do right by everyone while still keeping everyone safe. It's not as easy as it sounds.

I am SO happy that Shane is dead! I hated him from the start. Dale on the other hand however, I am so sad about and cried! I do not get why they got rid of his character!

I think the theory that the virus is airborne makes complete sense and could explain what Dr. Jenner whispered in Rick's ear when the CDC was going to explode. Remember how Rick asked Dr. Jenner if the bloodwork he ran on everyone was ok? He responded something like, just what I expected, or something similar. If they all have the virus it would show up in their bloodwork and would explain why they are becoming walkers without being bitten or scratched.
I think WAY too much about this show and need to get a life..

I totally agree with you. I cried when Dale was killed, I yelled "NOOOOO!" when Shane was killed, and now I am scared to find out who is next!

Eh, I could do without some of them. Dale annoyed me to no end, same with the blonde chick whose name escapes me at the moment- the gun toting moron.
