Tuesday QOTD

What kind of mother do you think you'll be or if you already have a DC did you think you'll be???

I always thought I'd be overly anal, which I am about somethings with DD, like her sleep, BUT I'm sooooooo much more laid back with certain things that I thought I wouldn't be...and surprisingly DH is the more uptight one about things

I always imagined to be a mom that would be "book perfect". Meaning anything you picutre a mother to be, I'd be.

I have since learned becoming a mother to DC#1 that no book can teach you how to parent. While you may refer to them as a guide you cannot rely on them. You need to rely on your maternal instinct as you are truly the only person who knows what is best for DC.

I am not sure. I would like to be exactly like my mother was. Stong independent, open and honest. She was stern but also very fair. She definitely has more patience than me so I am not sure.

I am a teacher and I have a lot of patience. As long as what needs to be done, gets done, I can handle a lot more than others. I think I'll be a bit stricter with my own LO. But I will be patient and let them grow and learn, and just be a kid.

i will definately be laid back not strict but know how to put my kid in its place lol - we will see though

I sorta feel like I am the mom that I thought I would be. I always felt that I would be a great mom. I always anticipated knowing what to do, not needing (or even wanting) a ton of help, and just being comfortable in my new role. So far I think I've been exactly the mom I had hoped and expected to be.

I am not a nervous, unsure person and from the moment my DD was born I just knew what to do and I felt comfortable doing everything. I find that I have really good instincts when it comes to my DD and being a mom comes really naturally to me. My DH is A LOT like me............both of us are pretty laid back, on the same page when it comes to parenting, and loving every minute of our time with her. So I guess yes........I am exactly the mom I thought I would be.

I was always terrified of being a mom, or being like my mom. Seeing what great moms my sisters have become has given me more confidence. I also was never crazy about kids (am still not, in general) until they had kids. Now I would jump in front of a bus for any of those kids, so I have faith that I will be a good mom.

I also think there is too much time wasted on silly things and that I will be very laid back. Here's hoping.

i am a little nervous about what type of mom ill be. i hope that i will be a mom that understands her children, listens to them and is patient. my patience has certainly grown in the past few years, and i feel that it will continue,

i am very anxious, however, and i am not looking forward to how that will play out when i have kids. i am half expecting to stand over my children while they are sleeping to make sure they are breathing still. it is a serious concern for me.
