Trump...I can't with him

1. It was a cornerstone of his campaign to have HRC locked up. The week after he was elected "Sorry, there really isn't anything there to arrest her, we will let it go".

2. It was a cornerstone of his campaign to repeal the ACA. Now the coal miners are wondering why they will loose their Black Lung benefits and HEALTH INSURANCE when ACA is repealed. They never realized the benefits they are getting are from ACA.

3. The Wall. As the "smart" people knew it would:
a. Never get built (it can't)
b. Not be paid for by the Mexicans
Surprise!!! Guess what the USA will be paying for now, NOT the Mexicans????

He is such a douche on so many levels.

And the people who voted for him should absolutely get what they deserve. And to be VERY clear I take no solace or pleasure on hard working people loosing insurance they desperately need.

I am really disheartened. I was a big Bernie supporter but I just can't believe where we are now headed. Trump's administration is all about privatizing the government - but low income/middle class families don't understand that with privatizing the government comes the deregulation and dismantling of services and programs that they themselves benefit from.

Rex Tillerson will want to keep gas prices inflated.

Jeff Sessions will undermine our freedoms and civil liberties.

Betsy DeVos will gut federal funding for education.

ACA will be repealed with nothing in place of it and at an enormous taxpayer burden.

And the list goes on and on. It's so sad that we're the laughingstock of the world and that out president elect is so immature and manic. He will only look out for his bottom line and the bottom line of his cronies. He pulled the wool over his voters eyes and now we are all going pay the price.

Empty promises, like the 8th grade student running for class president who promises no homework and extra recess Chat Icon. No one that voted for him will admit that this stuff is okay though. At least no one that I know!

HUGE Bernie supporter here too.

Per Bernie- 1/15 is The Day of Resistance. Get ready to rally. I'll post rally info as we find out about it.

In the meantime, we should all be calling up and visiting our representatives in the House and Senate to voice our concerns and tell them to OPPOSE all of Trump's nominees and agenda or else we will vote them out of office.

I have to say, as I've said before all my trump lovers haven't said shit about him since he was elected. Not one single comment about his flip flopping, not one single sentence. i can only assume they may ne slightly mortified that their "savior" has completely turned his back on his deplorables, and everyone else.

That's right. We are in the "post-truth" era. They just don't care. He is their supreme leader and whatever he says goes. And that works perfectly for the narcissist that he is, who says whatever suits him at the time and does not give a shit.

I have found some relief in not paying attention to what he says, just focus on what he actually does. He is all talk and it's all narcissistic self serving statements. Because we are sane, it is maddening to us to try to make sense out of it.

And I also feel better actively engaging with my representatives and local activist groups to resist this madman.

Trump...I can't with him

Typical politician, although he's not one. Said what he needed to say to get himself elected and now won't keep any of the promises. He's no different than any other person who has been elected or anyone else that would have been elected this election. Are we really surprised?

Come on, he is different. Very! This is NOT normal. Yes politicians lie and reneg on promises, but they would at least attempt to cover it up or rationalize it. The semblance of consistency and being honest was valued previously. Donnie doesn't even bother! He's a sick liar and his followers do not care!

And still......................IRL/FB/etc all those Trump supporters who couldn't shut their faces throughout the ENTIRE campaign and election are now quiet as mice. Not a word. Not a passing statement. No more "drain the swamp" and "Make America Great Again". No more ranting about how he's going to change the world. Nothing. Crickets. Why??? Because good old Trump is a top notch BS artist without a clue or even a shred of maturity. One idiotic tweet after another. One broken promise after another. There is nothing they can say to defend him, he's a joke and secretly, they KNOW it!! It's going to be a loooooong 4 years!

I refuse to even support the theory that DT is like every other politician.

There are politicians who do believe in doing good for our people. There are politicians who believe in democracy and being decent. I don't think many of them belong to the Republican party, but that's another story. Politics is partly a game, but overall there is a sense of doing what is right for the American people, not just what is best for oneself but I don't think Trump or the Republicans understand that.

I honestly think those that were SO Pro Trump...at least in my world...don't even follow what he is doing now. They probably have no idea that he won't be locking Hilary up, making us pay for a wall, and not draining the swamp!

I agree with this. I also honestly think a lot of the problem with people who voted for Trump is that they believe politicians are the enemy and not to be rude, don't really understand how the government works

So, they don't follow the day to day

Every trump supporter I know is pretty content right now but over the arguing and ready to move on. I know many. My experience is that DJT supporters are not keeping quiet because they are ashamed or regretful.

No. Clearly it's more involved than that. He does not think the rules apply to him. Won't release tax records, won't let go of his business/conflicts of interest, doesn't have to attend security briefings bc he's "smart", reneging on MAJOR campaign promises (that he won't touch social security/Medicare, he's going to "lock up" HRC, Mexico is paying for "the wall", etc). His lies are more outlandish and transparently self serving than any politician I've ever known. He just doesn't care or is too stupid to know he should be ashamed. He's a nasty bully. This, among other things, is why he's worse.

This is why I campaigned for Bernie. He is the only honest one in the lot of them.

This reminds me of an article I read once that explained the difference between lying and bullsh*t and applied it to Trump - how he does the latter and it's much more dangerous.

I see way too many people saying this and it's just completely incorrect.

Most presidents actually TRY to do some of the things they said they'd do.. Obama with the ACA; George Bush with No Child Left Behind; and if I recall correctly, Bill Clinton actually made some sort of attempt with healthcare that crashed and burned immediately. But they each did actually follow through with SOMETHING they campaigned about. Often they meet resistance in congress, or more pressing issues arise and their platforms need to take a back seat. It's not always just flat out lying.

Trump is not doing any of that. It is not the same. He's a straight up con man and we're all going to suffer for it.

Ding ding ding! (To the last 2 comments above). I mean, what do people want Trump supporters to say exactly? Maybe there are "crickets" because people generally don't talk about certain issues unless they disagree. I'm not about to go posting every day "Yay, so happy about Trump" but that doesn't mean I'm regretful or ashamed.

Let me be clear, I do not think Trump is a prize and he is certainly not my "savior" by any means. Would I have preferred Kasich or someone like that, sure. But the choices we were given were HRC and Trump. I don't think anyone is going to agree with every single thing that a President does and says. For example, are all Obama supporters happy right now about his treatment of Israel?

As for Trump's supposed broken campaign promises, all I have to say is:
"If you like your plan, you can keep it. If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. No one will take that away. Period." Sound familiar? Every politician in history has broken campaign promises. I am realistic - I never thought he was going to put Hillary in jail, but it was enough for me that he acknowledged that's where she should be.

Furthermore, I am not sure why there is such outrage about this anyway - during his campaign everyone was horrified by everything Trump wanted to do. Now that he isn't going to do them, instead of being relieved, everyone is just as horrified.

Again, I will admit he is far from perfect - no crickets on that point - but if HRC had been elected there could be entire threads about things she is doing that people don't like too.

The whole "if you like your plan you can keep it" line has been trotted out all over the place, as if it's the worst he could do. Not saying it was a good thing especially for the people affected.

BUT

We're going to end up paying for the wall.
We're watching him bait an unstable dictator with nukes on Twitter.
We've seen him disparage the work of intelligence officers, who risk their lives to do their jobs.
We're going to end up in another arms race, which many people worked hard to resolve- and it may not have a good outcome this time.

And there are people who voted for him- especially coal miners who had special coverage under Obamacare- who are now seeing what their vote will cost them, and they aren't happy.

The handful of people I know who voted for him are very wealthy long islanders. They still support him, more vocally in fact than before the election. But these are people who will benefit from his tax plan and have great health coverage without Obamacare.

The few I know who supported him who are more working/middle class have been quiet.

So whats your take on taxpayers paying for a wall and then expecting Mexico to?

What about the notion that all of our intelligence agencies (11) cant be trusted?

Completely repeal ACA, medicaid without a plan? Do these seem like good ideas? I know its not just Trump but his guys too.
