First of all, how could a known terrorist's father get into a political function like that with all of the secret service, etc.? You can not tell me that the dad is not on some watch list. His son, after pledging allegiance to ISIS, killed 50 people and injured another 50+ and he just shows up and is granted entry to that event? Secondly, how does the news just mention that in passing, like it was no biggie? Who invited him there? How did he get in? If HRC truly had no idea he was there, this is a serious security issue. Why wasn't that discussed in the story? If that was Trump and he gave that same response, it would be the only thing spoken about for days on end.
I'm really fed up with the media this election. It is so hard to get a real idea of what is going on because the media is so slanted. I would love to learn more about the third party candidates but it certainly isn't going to be through the news channels because they certainly get no air time.
I had heard about the father being at the rally but didn't care enough to look into it further. I agree it's in poor taste but last I heard, he didn't commit the act of terrorism so I guess I just don't see what the hoopla would be about, unless there's something I missed about him being involved in the shooting. Meanwhile, ex-congressman Mark Foley was at a trump rally and he himself was involved in a child molestation scandal while in congress. So I guess I just don't understand why the Orlando shooters father is a big deal but a child molester isn't. Again, unless I missed something and he was directly involved other than being his father.

Just because this man's son shot up a club does that mean he's to be held responsible for his GROWN ADULT son's actions?? Years ago my DH worked with a man (a VERY hard working good employee) whose son broke into a home and killed the homeowner. Should he have not held a job or gone into the world anymore because of the crimes of his son??? So I guess I too cannot understand why the father of the Orlando shooter cannot still live his life, have an opinion, and support a candidate despite what his son did.
Am I missing something too?
Maybe because the father is known for anti american views and supported the Taliban. Hillary's camp absolutely knew he was there as the people sitting directly behind her are vetted. All it does is feed into the masses who think that Obama/Hillary are terrorist sympathizers.

Exactly! "Liberal media" is always to blame but nothing is said when stories come out like the one yesterday- man beaten for wearing a trump t-shirt. Everyone goes nuts because certain news outlets (cough Fox News cough) fail to include this important (IMO) detail-
“He goes like, ‘You’re a n***er. You’re not even supposed to be here. This is a white people spot',” Friendly’s employee Mimi Sonmez told reporters.
So a man who happened to be wearing a trump shirt, yelled racial slurs at another man, and
was attacked. But in very few articles about it do they give the full story. But yeah, blame "liberal media koolaid".
And before anyone says it, I think the attacker was completely and utterly wrong for what he did. The point here is to point out the complete hypocrisy in criticizing the media for spinning things in favor of liberals.

I don't think we can talk "values" here with Trump. How does not he even fall in the category of conservatives? He married 3 times. A bankruptcy rap sheet and a litigation in process for Trump University where he scammed people. Those are actual facts. Nothing to do with hating or loving Trump.

She writes about what we don't see of presidential campaign coverage which I enjoyed reading. I can't imagine what it must be like to be subject to his insults as a reporter- being called "Little Katy" and needing to be walked to your car by the Secret Service because Trump made his supporters pissed at you.

This captures the essence of what I feel and to take it further it's why I can't see voting Republican until they change their platform.
How could I support people who are against marriage equality? Who think people several people I love dearly can't share the joy of marriage the way I do with my DH?
How can I support a party that votes against paid leave for new parents? Against student loan and tuition reform so our future thinkers and doers of the world can begin their lives without a crushing debt at 22?
They are the party of some earlier era that I don't want to go back to.

Thank you for sharing this. Not that I needed any confirmation as to how disgusting he is, but this just made my blood boil. I watch the Today Show every morning and have often wondered how Katy felt about being assigned to the Trump campaign. Very interesting read.

Are you ladies serious? If he was at the Trump rally would you be saying the same thing? The comparisons both of you made are apples and oranges. The father of a confirmed terrorist who murdered dozens of people was sitting front and center at her rally and you see no problem with that?
In this case, I don't think it matters which side you are on in terms of your political views. The father has known ties to the Taliban. I do not believe for a minute he is not on some watch list. To me, this was a security issue and a breach of security. Everyone should be concerned about that, no matter who you are voting for.

There is/was apparently a rape case against him. Not sure if this is an active case. With a witness. They said they never came forward because their life were threatened. It was quickly hush hush. I do not know the validity of it but would like to hear more of this story. It would have happened many years ago. Trump and ""forgot his name" were doing lost of parties with very young women. Even underage. That friend was later on charged for something else. Actually to be fair, it was said Clinton may be been hanging in same circles as said friends.

I would've said the EXACT same thing had he been at a Trump rally. Again, I hadn't read up on him and I wouldn't assume just because his son was a piece of $hit he was as well. Given the info about him I do not think he should've been there BUT I also don't think it means HRC (or anyone for that matter) sympathizes and sides with terrorists.

Are you ladies serious? If he was at the Trump rally would you be saying the same thing? The comparisons both of you made are apples and oranges. The father of a confirmed terrorist who murdered dozens of people was sitting front and center at her rally and you see no problem with that?
In this case, I don't think it matters which side you are on in terms of your political views. The father has known ties to the Taliban. I do not believe for a minute he is not on some watch list. To me, this was a security issue and a breach of security. Everyone should be concerned about that, no matter who you are voting for.
I'm all over the internet right now trying to find anything that confirms he was an invited guest and I'm finding nothing, further, I did find something saying Clinton disavows his support.
