Transitions
Please help! My 2 year old DD is having such a hard time with transitions - whether it be going from one activity to the next at our mommy and me type group, going upstairs for nap or bed time, stopping playing to come to the table to eat, leaving somewhere where she is having fun playing, etc. I am starting to not want to do things with her and take her out because there is always a battle.
Any suggestions? I have tried giving her warnings so that she knows we are going to be leaving or changing activities or whatever but this isn't working so far.
Tia!

Re: Transitions
haha I amswered your other post about screaming too.
Our dd's seem very similar it must be the age.
We have a very hard time with transitions. We go to MY Gym and have been for over a year now. We just started a new, older, class and it's like our first time going.
I try and warn her too. It's hard. They want to be in control and do what they WANT.
It's a whole control issue. The other day she was awful at Gym. She was not listening, participating, and screaming. I took her into t he lobby and finally got her to calm down. She acted up again and I took her out, told her if she doesn't stop we will leave. She didn't stop so I put on her socks and shoes and she flipped. didn't want to go so I told her that she needs to stop and start listening. She was much better after that. She wouldn't do the teacher activities but did sit and listen and did the circle time.
It's really tough. I don't have any real advice since we are in the thick of it as well.
One day they will be ok with doing whatever and following along. It took her a long time to do the teacher stuff in the last my gym class then we switched.
