I don't - I buy the flat bagels a lot though - those are great.
they don't have any less carbs- they are just a regular bagel flattened
someone at my job owns a bagel store and he told us that- it was upsetting to say the least
but I don't scoop- if I am going to eat it- I eat it!

Actually, one of the things that makes (real) New York-style bagels so popular around the country is the crispy crust, as opposed to soft, soggy crusts you get elsewhere.
So I say scoop all you want...it's just dough...and unnecessary carbs.

I had a feeling they were both the same! I just like the variety so I will continue to eat both.
