i bought and sold 3 places and never tipped anyone. as a pp said, there were fees to a title company, but they were required.

We tipped although I don't remember how much. My lawyer told me to write out a whole bunch of checks and the "tip" was one of them. Didn't argue. Just did it ;)
Pretty much, same here...
The "tip" check went to the title closer (her personally) and it was $100.00
It wasnt really presented like an option...like it just was one of the checks that needed to be written out.
