Thoughts on *turquoise* walls....

I have no fear of anything bold or "out there" (except the time I painted my master bedroom red - I changed it two weeks later because it was anxiety-producing!)

and in a recent Ballad catalog, I saw they used a turquoise wall. It looked awesome.

What do you think?
Anyone done this?

It would be for a living room.
I'd update some pieces in the living room with whites and pale yellows to compliment it.

I guess "other". It wouldn't work in my house, but for some houses, I think it would look good.

Doesn't go with my house but I can see how that would add drama to a space. It needs to be a large room with high ceilings to really pull it off.

LOVE them. And honestly, I think it can go with any house. This is a very vibrant turquoise, but you can find more muted aqua colors. Looks amazing though!

LOVE it. I have had rooms that were light turquoise and loved them. Love the dark turquoise but not sure if I would do it.

I voted I dig it. I love the idea of it, but I feel that the whole house palette needs to be complementary for flow. It would stick out like a sore thumb in my house, since we're more "organic" in decor.

Yuck! Dislike. But................I have background that makes me want to Chat Icon Chat Icon when I see a turquoise room.

When we bought out house original owners painted their master bedroom completely turquoise with a burnt orange rug. It was a hot mess. EVERYTHING was turquoise........the radiator covers, the walls, the trim, the closets.........everything! It was god awful hideous.

Perhaps done right and decorated tastefully it could look nice but circa 1969 turquoise with an orange rug??.............wrong, very very wrong. Chat Icon

Love...but this is coming from the girl who painted her first nyc apt lime green and purple!Chat Icon . Girl at Home Depot when I bought paint told me I had "balls". It was cool. I like color, white walls to me look blah and dingy.

Re: Thoughts on *turquoise* walls....

I had a turquoise kitchen. I 'neutralized' whnen we staged to sell but I liked it (and I did leave one wall turquoise as an accent wall)

It depends on how it's done. I love it on HGTV, but I'd never be able to coordinate it as well in my house. I *might* do it as an accent wall.

I love it!

My DH and I painted out first apartment's living room turquoise and pale blue. It was beautiful and calming. Like a little jewel of a room.

Go for it! It's just paint!!

Yes, we did a very deep turquoise as an accent wall with a whisper of blue for the rest if the room. It was gorgeous. I'm getting nostalgic thinking about it!!

Re: Thoughts on *turquoise* walls....

I have this color ( the tiffany blue) in my office. I LOVE IT!!
and every time someone comes in for the first time...they compliment on it. I have no problem with color....every one of my rooms is a different color....

It looks really nice with dark furniture.
