Those who have sitters that drive your kids

How did you find them?
How did you become comfortable with the idea?

Anyone have someone that drives their 3 kids in car seats?
Trying to figure things out for next year!

My sitter doesn't drive but I've asked these same questions before.

I know several families who have nannies/sitters who drive their kids. Some will use the nanny's car or some will pay for the nanny to use one of their "spare" cars.

One close friend has 3 little ones 4 and under - her sitter is a dream come true because she drives them everywhere - library/parks/farms/sporting events - she has a big Ford Explorer with the third row of seating - she keeps extra car seats and booster seats in her garage and just moves people around as she needs to.

When I worked as a Nanny, I drove. At first it was just to and from school for the older child. But then I was taking them to the library, parks, etc,. I drove my own vehicle. In the beginning I had a Ford Explorer. I had 2 car seats and a booster in one row. Then when that died, we replaced it with a minivan.. I put the older kid in the back and the two little ones in the middle row.
It comes down to feeling comfortable... One family I worked for was ok with me taking the child to school or on a play date, but was weird when I wanted to take her elsewhere (near where they lived).. They got over it when they realized it was kind of stupid. If they trusted me (or someone else) driving their child anywhere, then what was the difference where I took her. I still drive the kids I watch... And there are a few of my sons sitters that I would let drive him around..

Those who have sitters that drive your kids

My sitter drives. I love it. I leave me car for her and it has the 2 car seats in it but sometimes if i need it she just takes her own. She takes them to Gymboree. the park and swimming lessons. She also takes them to sports games at the highschool if the weather is nice just to get out of the house. I would not like to be couped up inside all day and i dont expect her to either. Also in case of an emergency she can drive the kids to the doctor or hospital. We found her on Care.com.

Our nanny drove my 2 boys to local places and school. Now that I have 3 she will evenutally take the 3 out when she is comfortable bringing them all somewhere. Baby is only 3 months and older are in school part of the day. She uses our car.
SHe only drives local with them

She has been with us 5 years and we found her on care.com

Thanks for all the info. Those of you whose nanny uses your car, what car do you use?
