Those that had kids with the stomach virus.... Did you catch it?
DD had that nasty stomach virus that started Wednesday pm. Today she seems to be improving but I am wondering if I am going to be next.
If you caught it how many days after DC's onset of symptoms?

Ds's as the first one of 15 to get it at xmass time.
My mom, dh and I all took care of him when he was sick and all got it. It spread like wildfire from there. Anyone that got it got sick exactly 2 days after being exposed.
He recently had another virus and no one got it (except his twin sister who got a very mild form)
I think it depends on the virus...fingers crossed for you!

DS has had a few viruses - I've gotten it about 50% of the time.

Yup i got it about 2-3 days after my dd had it. And mine lasted 4 days.

My DD had a stomach virus back in November. She got it on a Thursday (lasted maybe 6 hours). I had it on Saturday and mine lasted about 12 hours.

DD had a wicked one around February. DH got it a week later then I got it a week after him. It seemed like we were never going to get that virus out of our house!
eta- This wasn't a 24 or 48 hr bug, it lasted 5-7 days in each of us. Just as we'd think we were getting better, it would kick back up again. I hope that's not what you're dealing with!

Yes! I got sick the very next day after DS, it spread to everyone we were in contact with those next 2 days but luckily for us it was a 24 hour virus

Thank you guys! So basically I'm sh1t out of luck! Lol. She got sick Wednesday at 10pm. Today no vommiting. Absolutely not herself but at least that part is over. She barely ate, is very fatigued.
I'm just waiting for it to hit me..... Lol

Neither of us got it. There is hope!! We both added extra vitamin C and took 1 Tbsp of organic apple cider vinegar a couple of times a day (yuck!..but it works!!) GL!

I have never and DH has never gotten it. For us, the key is to clorox with bleach everything all the time. Everytime the sick child goes we wipe down the potty. We only have 1.5 baths but we try to have the sick person use one potty/sink then the healthy ones don't use that one.
We wash hand with soap then use sanitizer. We only do this when we have a sick child.
We wash everything frequently in hot water. If you wash towels or bedding in anything but hot water it doesn't kill anything.
The above only works if you didn't catch it before the symptoms started. Since you are contaigious 24 hrs before the 1st symptoms start you can't controle that. So if you get sick 24-48 hours from your child it might be bc you got it before their 1st symptom.
Regular clorox wipes etc will not work. You need bleach to kill the stomach bug viruses. I also spray paper towels and then use those for lightswitches, doorknobs, stair handrails.

YES this december!!! Baby A started, then baby B, then both mommies. then when we thought we were all in the clear....days later. the girls gave it to many more people

Omg! I've been washing like a lunatic. The night she got sick I sent DH to our 24 hr CVS for more detergent! I washed everything in hot, all bedding towels and the PJS we were all wearing the night she got sick.
I have bleached a lot and used Clorox wipes on everything.
I washed all her stuffed animals that were on her bed Bc of course she sleeps with 20 and somehow got a piece of each one!!
I washed on sanitize cycle in the dishwasher (after wasting the stuff by hand too).
I'm a wreck! Lol

Bleach will kill it. You can buy any cleaner that contains bleach... usually cleaners that say mold and mildew have bleach.
Or you can dilute regular bleach with water and put it in a spray bottle.

Yeah that's what I have been using. The Clorox bathroom cleaner has bleach.

My DD started with the stomach virus on a Friday, early morning, and then I got Sunday morning, and DH got it Monday morning. It was awful.
