There seems to be an epidemic lately....
of men who decide they don't want to be married anymore not just on this website but in my life as well.
My best friend and her husband just got a divorce because he decided that he really did not want a family. I just found out yesterday that my cousin and her hsuband are getting divorced because he wants to be single with his friends.
I really don't understand this! Why get married??????? Why would you put someone through this pain???? Why say vows of for better or worse????
I'm sorry but this upsets me so much that it makes me crazy with angry and sadness for everyone who has to go through this.
My heart goes out to you all going through this difficult situation!
Just know that there is someone out there for you waiting to love and treat you they way that you should.

Re: There seems to be an epidemic lately....
I've been hearing so much of this lately too. I just don't get it. Men are just so fickle. If they don't like what's going on they are gone, out of here. They think the grass is always greener elsewhere. I just don't get it.
Don't you feel like our parents generation of men seemed more "fatherly", honorable, trustworthy? Or is it just that the mothers stayed because they had to? It's very sad. You think you're in it for the long haul and bam in a second these guys are like I'm out. It's crazy.

Exactly! It feels like these guys just woke up one day and said "You know what I don't feel like being married anymore" and poof! they are gone!

Re: There seems to be an epidemic lately....
But what I don't get is how they are so matter of fact about it. Like it was a plan all along. Women are alot stronger than men. We know that having children, a home, a husband, jobs, etc all takes work. I think men think they just have their professional job to worry about.....for some reason it seems like their job as dad, husband, homeowner, stresses them out and they can't handle it so it's easier to walk away from it. I don't know it's bizarre.
My ex was a nut job, he was having SEVERAL affairs on me and I had NO clue. Like a jack azz, I stayed w/him and he did it again and then I was like I'm out of here. I just don't get where their heads are, do you not care that you are responsible for someone elses life when you make these quick stupid decisions. I don't know. Fortunately for me, I had no children, just a house to sell. It's very very sad and like someone said it seems like an epidemic and the women are left holding the bag.??

I completely agree!!! I'm seeing this a lot with men and women.
I can't imagine how hurt I would be or how much I could hurt someone by being in either situation.
Also, it seems people just don't want to work at repairing the marriage. They just want out. Then down the line they will realize teh diasaster they created and will never be able to repair it.

Re: There seems to be an epidemic lately....
It's not just men. I know of women who have just packed up and left their husbands (one left her husband and kids). She says that they got married too young and she did not have a chance to date and experience life so she is off doing that now
It's not just young couples either.
My cousin left his wife after 6 years of marriage and 2 kids since he wanted to date again. He probably never stopped dating from the number of times she caught him cheating.
DH's friend is older than us and has been with his fiance for 10 years. He has two kids (not her kids) that she has raised for 10 years. He started cheating, got caught, stopped cheating, started cheating again (same woman) and now he is living with the other woman while HIS kids are at the house with his ex. And he blamed his fiance for his cheating since she pressed him to set a wedding date & accused him of cheating when he allegedly was not cheating

I agree it's not just men! Women are capable of being just as heartless as these men.

Re: There seems to be an epidemic lately....
I'm sure we can come up with a million reasons as to "why" - but it's not worth it to waste our time. It's something very unfortunate to go through, and especially when it's happening in your direct circle.
What's most important is being a strong person, supporting their decisions, and just being there.
