Re: The un-official Couch to 5K thread
I did workout 2 of week1. I tried to go faster than on Monday, and I was much more tired after this run than the last one. Of course, it is 10 degrees hotter today than Monday, so maybe that contributed to it. But DH said that I ran faster than last time. One more and then onto week 2!

Re: The un-official Couch to 5K thread
Okay, I'm back to this after almost a month off with a sprained ankle (not due to running). I think I need to restart week 5 since it's been a while. Boo. But I'm SO glad to be able to exercise again!

Re: The un-official Couch to 5K thread
Thanks Jeany and MissJones! It's so nice to have the support on here!
I was really sore after Day 3 of Week 5, so I took off two days. Did Day 1 of Week 6 this morning!

I feel the same way, I think I'm gonna cry after day 3 of week 9, like someone's handing me a diploma!

Re: The un-official Couch to 5K thread
Hey everyone! I finished Day 3 of week 1 today and for some reason today was harder than the first 2 days. Not unbearable but I felt it more. Anyway, I am excited to move on to week 2! I have been running at the gym on the treadmill. Does anyone else do this? I am wondering how fast you ran at the beginning and did you find that your speed increased as you moved through the weeks? I feel like I am running so slow! Thanks

Re: The un-official Couch to 5K thread
I did Day 3 of Week 6 this morning. 25 minutes non-stop and I survived! I guess I'll be able to handle Week 7 without any problems

Re: The un-official Couch to 5K thread
My schedule is totally off...I really can only do 2 days a week, so I'm going to do weeks 1-4 4 times instead of 3, so it will take me 8 weeks. I did workout 3 of week 1. I'll repeat this Sunday and then move onto week 2.
I'm mainly doing it for exercise so I don't mind if I don't follow it exactly.

In the beginning I was only running on the treadmill and as time went on I started to increase my speed and now I run at 5.5 and can do sprints at 5.7 - 5.8. You will see as time goes on that you will little by little be able to increase your speed. I have to say though that running outdoors is so much better! All the girls on here told me that it was and they did not lie it is a lot better. The only thing I like about running on the treadmill is that you can track your time, distance, and speed better! I still do run on the treadmill 2 days a week though b/c I also do pilates at the gym so I am already there. LOL. Good luck and keep us posted. HTH

Thanks for the reply! The first week I ran at 5.0, this week I've been running at 5.2 so I guess it's not too bad. I agree about running outside. I should try to do it more as the weather gets nicer.

Re: The un-official Couch to 5K thread
I hurt my foot (unrelated to jogging) and took a couple extra days off. I ran Day 1 of Week 7 yesterday. I may do a couple days in a row to catch up. We'll see though
