The Twilight movies...
Ok, I'm a bit late to the party on these, but I just read all the books this month and LOVED them. I mean, like I couldn't put them down. So I netflixed the first two movies and watched them and, omg, they are HORRIBLE! SO disappointing! I don't even think the guy that plays Edward is even close to being good looking enough to properly portray the character from the book. But I guess that's just my opinion because so many people I know think he's good looking. Anyway, I just need to vent about that because I was hoping the movies were going to at least be good. Boo.

Re: The Twilight movies...
Ok the first movie is CRAP. Horrible, just horrible... so I agree with you on that. The acting is bad, they left out SO many important things that occurred in the book. For example, they completely leave out them falling in love in the movie... it was like one minute they meet, the next minute they love each other. If I didn't read the book beforehand,I would be like .
But I LOVED LOVED LOVED the second movie. OMG I have seen it 20 times at least and cant get enough. I happen to like Rob Patt as Edward and I like Kristen as Bella. I think their acting really developed in the second one and the director was MUCH better. New Moon really stayed true to the book IMO, they really put everything important in.
I am dying for Eclipse on 6/30. My fav book out of the 4 and I am sitting here like a giddy 12 year old anticipating the movie!
So I clearly like this series way too much based upon my response.

Re: The Twilight movies...
I definitely agree that the second movie was better and Taylor Lautner was good and the chick who plays Bella got better at acting, but still, I felt like the movies were so cheesy, whereas the books were so fantastically written. Of course, I am going to see the new movie, but still, I hope it's better

Re: The Twilight movies...
I'm right there with you. I LOVED the books and was so excited to see the first movie when it came out. I dragged DH to see it with me on opening day and ended up apologizing profusely for it . The second was better than the first, but still a far cry from the books. Yes, I will see the third, but I'll patiently wait a couple weeks for the teeny bopper crowds to die down. It's always such a bummer when a book isn't portrayed the way you want it on film.

Re: The Twilight movies...
I was tardy to the party as well and felt the same way you did but when I finished the books, New Moon wasn't out yet. I liked that movie waaaaay better.
I think the make up for the vamps is horrible in both movies but much improved in New Moon. ITA about RP not being hot enough to play Edward. I think Chace Crawford should have been Edward. But I think Chace Crawford should pretty much be everywhere all the time.

ITA. The movies are awful. I think Kristin Stewart fits the role physically, but her acting is horrible, and why on earth did they pick that guy to play Edward? In fact, all the Cullens are supposed to be gorgeous - what went wrong with the casting? I didn't care for the way they portrayed Charlie either, it just didn't fit with the character in the book, IMO.
Of course, after saying all that, I will go see the 3rd movie...

Re: The Twilight movies...
I absolutely love the books. The first movie was the most awful thing I've ever wasted my time on. The second movie might have been better but honestly I was so distracted by all the screaming pre-teens that I couldn't concentrate or enjoy it. I do want to watch it again (and re-read all the books) before I see Eclipse but I will never watch any of these movies in the theater ever again. Honestly I don't remember being that annoying as a teen, ever

Re: The Twilight movies...
I agree that the books do not even come close to just how good the books were. I have some friends that only saw the movies and didn't read the book and can't understand why I am so obsessed with this series. I keep telling them that it's because of the BOOKS that I'm obsessed! In the Twilight movie, there were so many key points missed. I felt like New Moon movie stuck closer to the book. From what I've been hearing though, is that Eclipse is supposed to blow the first 2 movies out of the water! I hope so. It's my 2nd favorite book out of the series (well, it's tied with Twilight - and Breaking Dawn is my fav!!)

Re: The Twilight movies...
I agree ... loved the books..hating the movies! The acting is horrible ... Bella is awkward in real life and in the movie...have you seen her in an interview ...it hurts just to watch! I had high expectations and have been disappointed... the 2nd was a little better than the first so I am hoping the 3rd will be even a little better! (we'll see) but with that said...I am going with all my girlfriends (close to) opening day to see it!

Re: The Twilight movies...
I totally agree....LOVED the books and have been horribly disappointed by the movies. I agree the second was a little better than the first, but I have to say, I really can't stand the way Kristin Stewart portrays Bella at ALL! I find her so annoying!

Re: The Twilight movies...
The first movie had low budget and it shows. It's a shame, because it could have been a great movie...the first book was my favorite. That being said, I've still watched that movie everytime I see it on Cable.
I liked (not loved) New Moon, much better than Twilight, but that was my LEAST favorite book...and I'm Team Edward...nuff said.
Looking forward to Eclipse!!!!!!
