The rollercoaster ride continues...Updated 11/22 with beta # 5
So after beta hell the past eight days, I went today to have a sonogram to find out what's going on. Dr. saw "something" in my uterus but it is still too early to tell exactly what (I am only 5w3d). He called it a "pseudo sac" at this point. He did rule out with 99% certainty that he does NOT believe this is an ectopic pregnancy which I am obviously relieved about. Saw that little black dot on the screen and couldn't help but get upset. He stressed again that given my low beta levels (the highest being 276 yesterday), that he thinks something is wrong (chromosome issue) and doesn't think this will have a positive ending. So, now I wait it out. Have to go back on Monday when I will six weeks to see if there is anything more. This waiting is just awful
11/21 - Had my second sono today at just about 5 1/2 weeks (I thought I was six weeks today, but the doctor counts from the day of transfer). The doctor saw a yolk sac today. He said it is measuring a little on the small side since I am 3 1/2 weeks after transfer. He took blood to check my levels again too. So now I wait an entire WEEK to see if there is a heartbeat at our next appointment when I will be close to seven weeks. Another week of waiting
11/22 Beta #5 - Just got the results from yesterday's beta and from 11/16 to 11/21 my beta went from 276 to 1188. I spoke to the PA and she was definitely more positive than Dr. Brenner has been. She said that she saw my sono from yesterday and that she definitely thinks the yolk sac is on the small side - but that she's seen pregnancies with slow starts turn out successful. I am about 5 1/2 weeks pregnant so my beta should be MUCH higher, but it is doubling and we have a yolk sac so.....now I wait until my sono next week

LMAO!! You made me laugh - THANK YOU! I don't think he's trying to be so negative, I think he's talking from experience and trying to prepare me for what he THINKS will be the outcome. But yes, it stinks!

Re: The rollercoaster ride continues...
Uch. I really feel for you. My situation back in April was so similar except that my betas went from doubling to not doubling and just rising slowly. When I went for a sono around the same time as you, we saw a sac, and nothing else. The next week, the same sac was there, and it was deemed non-viable. The waiting to find out if it was going to be a viable pregnancy was just torturous. I am hoping and praying that you have a different outcome...your betas are doubling, and that's a really good sign!

have you checked out betabase.info?
they have betas there ranging from extremely low to extremely high. There is NO WAY for him to know what is going on right now...

I am glad for you it is not etopic, because that would be way worse.
And I am really hoping you are just early and all is well. Hoping this wait winds up being wel worth it for you!
