Rollercoaster ride...

Well got to see my little girl (who is NOT so little BTW 4 lbs 14 oz at 31w5 days) today. She was sucking on her hand it was so adorable!!

Well my fluid shot up and I now have Polyhydramnios (excess fluid) so today I was told they are pretty sure she does have the fistula. Because of her size, the excess fluid etc the doctor told me she hopes I make it to 36 weeks. So I need to prepare that she will probably need surgery when she is born.

So although I was told okay to go out to an occasional lunch or coffee I need to take it very easy and relax if I get 3-4 contractions in an hour I have to call them right away.

At least I am ok bp is really good, haven't gained any real weight in a month (only 1/2 pound).

Re: Rollercoaster ride...

Im so sorry....I know its scary. At least you know its correctable and can be prepared, and Im sure you have looked online and seen how many times it turns out to be nothing, even where preparing for the worst, so while you prepare, I will say a pray its nothing in the end....

Also , you know I had Polyhydramnios and now my levels are back down to normal. It may not happen for you, but it is possible for it to be a fluke.

Are you having Bio Physicals? Does she pass , or just fail the fluid part?

What exactly is a biophysical? I have had sonos every two weeks that measures everything - b.c they are still monitoring the stomach size as well as the fluid - and this time it wasn't growing as well as it had been - my fluid has been boarderline for a bit but it went down 1 or 2 pts and now shot up.

The thing is that they do see the fistulas and atresias about once a month - and they feel that I have classic signs - the only good news is that they don't think it is a serious complication as she has had a more normal size stomach but when it started measuring more in the normal range my fluid increased.

Ok, I dont know or understand anything you said..Sorry....

A bio physical is a sono where they measure the fluid, see if baby is practice breathing, if swallowing and moving. And a non tsress test sometimes goes with it.

I am sur eyour DRs are on top of it all.

Sorry I cant offer more advice Chat Icon

Then yes they have - they measure the fluid via sono at every visit when they measure the stomach and other parts. The baby is breathing - but what they think it is that she has a swallowing issue.

Re: Rollercoaster ride...

I hope you can find the time to relax! Are they inducing you at 36 weeks or do they just think that you will go early?

She didn't say induce she said she hoped I would make it to 36 weeks (making me feel that I would go before or by then.)
