My whole family watches Elf together every Thanksgiving, it has become our tradition.
Favorite part is his face when he's the Jack-in-the-box tester I hate that toy too
Oh and him getting hit buy the taxi.. "the yellow ones don't stop!!"

oh man! I think it's super cute! It's like the innocence of childhood trapped in a man-child LOL.
The jumping from one pedestrian line in the street to another, the eating gum (IT'S NOT FREE CANDY!)...
I think it's funny, but everyone is different

My favorite christmas movie ever!!! I can watch it again and again and again. The lines that have come from this movie crap me up...but I have to agree my favorite is "you're not Santa, you smell like beef and cheese". That whole Buddy/Fake Santa scene is a classic.
"Santa!!! I know him!!!"

I'm with you. DH & I watched it once and thought it was eh. Somebody had really built it up to us, so maybe we were expecting too much?
From what people here wrote it sounds like you have to watch it more than once to get into it.

So funny you posted this...I actually fell asleep in the theater when I saw that movie. I didn't find it very funny at all, but I have met people who think it's absolutely hysterical.

It's one of those movies that the second time you watch, you catch more stuff. It's just a cute Christmas movie. It's not vulgar funny like the Hangover or anything like that.
I thought it was dumb the first time I saw it. Now I think it's hysterical! My kids love it too

I agree 100%. I don't know how people DON'T find the movie or will ferrell funny!
I think he is hilarious. And his impressions on SNL are spot on. LOVE LOVE LOVE him!!
