The kitchen is ALMOST finished! (Pics)
Ok, so all that is left is the backsplash, molding, and install the butcher block countertop on the island... I'm so proud of DH for designing and constructing this all by himself, all for less than $11k!  Image Attachment(s):

YES!!! We got almost all the appliances at Ikea... the cabinets, granite, all appliances except the oven, sink, faucet and hardware, all for $10k. The oven and tiling cost us another $1k.

Wow what a great job he did!! Looks beautiful! Amazing budget -- is the molding, butcherblock, and backsplash included in the 11k? Can you pls share where you shopped for the non-ikea items?

Molding and the butcherblock are included in the price... although the butcher block at Ikea is back-ordered because so many people have figured out that it's a beautiful, cheap countertop option.
We bought the backsplash and the floor tile at home depot. I think it all came in under $1k.

Can I hire your DH? OMG if I could get a kitchen for 11K I might just be able to talk DH into it. I loathe my kitchen.
You'll have to at least give me some pointers. Our IKEA is FINALLY opening in July.

No the thing in the wall is a built-in microwave (also from Ikea  ) and to the left of it is a range oven.
