Read closely, his WIFE is breastfeeding, not him. She is on hormones to induce lactating.
As for him being a man or a woman. The point of all the news articles etc. clearly is that he may be the first LEGAL man (legally he is a man) to give birth. Given the number of people in this country with gender identity issues, I don't think the story is exactly out there or entirely newsworthy. However, I think it's fair to say that people should respect the fact that he has (at least legally) changed his gender and identifies himself as a man. I don't think there's any reason for people to get all up in arms about it.

JUST wante dto add: I think the main reason people are up in arms about this sotry is because it is being billed as the first "man givign birth" while in reality it is a woman who got pregnant, carried the pregnancy to term and gave birth in the most oldfashion way possible--Where is the sensation? That the woman grew a beard?

I stand corrected, thank you.
However, this "person" is making money off the fact that he is a "man" who gave birth, when in fact, GENETICALLY, he is not male. Like the above poster said, you can call yourself whatever you want, and in this country you can legally change your sex......and then go on Oprah and make tons of cash exploiting yourself and your child.
THat is what really gets me.
Do whatever you want with your life, but don't take away the sanctity of giving birth to a child, which many people take VERY seriously and replace it with tabloid that you did something that was clearly not entirely true...........

OMG- YES!!! This is NOT a pregnant man- it is/was a pregnant woman who LIVES as a man. If you still have ovaries and a uterus- you are a WOMAN biologically.
ITA! It really bothered me that they called him a pregnant man. They SHOULD be saying that he is a transgender man who is pregnant if anything....
