temp questions
Today is CD19 and still no positive OPK. I *think* I have EWCM today. It's not a heck of a lot, but I'm pretty sure it's not leftovers. You'd think after 9 months, I'd have it down.
Anywho, I'm getting mighty frustrated that I haven't gotten a positive yet and getting nervous since I didn't O last month (which I assumed was due to a UTI during O-time). I had a really, super-close to positive on CD11 along with really wet CM. Last month I had the same thing on CD12. I swore I wouldn't do it, but I'm considering temping next month to figure out what's going on.
So my questions are: I'm someone who doesn't always get up at the same time every am (which is why I never wanted to temp). Some days I have to be at work much earlier. Should I always get up at the earliest possible time to temp?
And what happens if I'm supposed to take it at 6 am, but one morning I need to get up at 5? Is the temp thrown off?
Ditto with waking up in the middle of the night?
Lastly, would you start now to get the hang of it or wait to fresh cycle?
Thanks ladies.

Re: temp questions
I dont have alot of advice as I just started this month. But i set my first alarm at the earliest time i get up and take my temp. If i dont have to get up at that time i set a second alarm.
I thought it was going to be a pain. But so far its not that bad.

Re: temp questions
i swore i would never temp either but then i had a d&c last sept and my cycles were shorter than normal after and i got worried that i wasn't O'ing so i started temping this cycle. it looks like AF is going to start any day now and i'm sad about not getting a BFP this cycle BUT i am SO GLAD i started temping b/c at least now i have peace of mind about O'ing. i was also worried about my LP and that seems normal too so the temping has most definitely been worthwhile.
i try to temp at the same time every morning. i don't always wake up at the same time either but i've made it a habit just to set the alarm on my phone so i can just take my temp and go back to sleep. i use fertilityfriend.com and it will make a note of when your timing is off with your temp and you can even choose to disregard certain temps if you want. i've found that even though i normally temp at 5:45, it will accept a temp as early as 5:20 without making a special notation of it. meaning, you can probably temp anytime within the same 1/2 hour window each day.
the waking up in the night thing has been hard for me too b/c i'm a bad sleeper. i guess the rule of thumb is that you have at least 3 consecutive hours of sleep and this usually works out for me since i wake up to go pee most nights at around 2 but then sleep until 5:45.
it's DEFINITELY not as bad as i thought it would be and i actually feel better knowing that my body is doing what it should. and...if you find that you are not O'ing then that's even sooner that you can go to the doctor to get things checked out. HTH

Re: temp questions
Ive been temping and on Tuesdays I work in a different office and have a longer traveling time, hence the early temp of 6am...on the other days i do 630 am. I don't see a problem with it- I do see my overall temps at a consistant pattern after ovulation all are High.
How often are your times going to differ?

Unfortunately, there's no real answer to this. I often have breakfast meetings and early work events, but there's no consistency to them. Some weeks I have none, others I'll have 2 in one week. I work in the city, so if I have to be in early, I definitely get up a lot earlier. I guess I'll give it shot and hope for the best--I can't be much more confused than these past 2 months.

If your up for it choose a time you know you will be sleeping lets say you definatley wake after 5 am..choose 5 am to get up at a consistent time...the days you go in late..go back to sleep! I have a basal thermometer that stores the temp so all you have to do is leave it under ur pillow....take ur temp and then go back to snoozin!
