temp questions 103+
i have little to no experience with fevers as DD #1 hardly got them as an infant and still rarely gets them as a toddler...
DD#2 turns 1 next week and is running a temp. it started out at 101.6 and has been creaping up to 102.2. i've been able to knock it down once to 99.3. my question is...at what temps do i call the ped on call vs. go straight to the ER if there are any issues overnight?
as long as temp is the only issue, my gut says 103.5 call the ped 104/105 go to ER? am i being overly cautious or is that what others think/do?
thanks

Re: temp questions 103+
Ryan had almost 104 earlier this week and it turned out to be Flu A. I asked the MD when I should take him to the ER and she said b/t the flu and viral infections, they've been seeing 104-105 and it's pretty common. That said, I would probably be calling the emergency ped line for 104 +.

Re: temp questions 103+
DS in 10.5 months and has never had a fever, but I would be calling our Ped at 101 and going to the ER at 103. But that is probably because I would just be freaked out since I haven't had to deal with illness yet (knock on wood!!)

Re: temp questions 103+
My o so wonderful soon-to-be-ex doesn't even call the doc if DS has a 103.0...then when I call the doc and the doc said motrin, he decided tylenol is good b/c that's what he has in the house...even though his mom is there and someone could watch ds while the other went to get the doc recomended drug.
Sorry - forgot - this is about you -- I'd say anything above 102 call the doc. Especially if DC doesn't usually run high fevers.
My mom didn't really blink w/ me unless my fever was above 103.5 - I ran pretty high fevers.

Re: temp questions 103+
I'm so confused..
Anything over 102 and im freaking out.. but the pedi office said 103 is healthy?
Link
Still.. anything over 102 and i'd be calling the doc's office and talking to an overnight nurse or on call doctor.
