teething, diarrhea and daycare

DS has had diarrhea on and off since Sat. I've been doing the brat diet and it helps somewhat. He has been putting his fingers in his mouth and drooly. I think he's teething because he eats and drinks just fine. He has been crankier too.

He's going on 19 months. Is it possible for 2yr molars to be coming in already? All the other teeth are either out or half way out.

Tomorrow is his first day at daycare this week. I've been going back and forth with taking him. This is why I'm up now. Chat Icon Ped will say do brat diet, make sure he's taking fluids and has wet diapers. That's why I haven't taken him to Dr yet. but I will call tomorrow since its day 4 on this. With the heat wave we are getting the next 3 days I'm wondering if I should give him pedialyte even though he has been drinking plenty of water and has consistent wet diapers.

Wwyd regarding daycare? Would you give pedialyte even though he has plenty of wet diapers?

Re: teething, diarrhea and daycare

Update on DS: I took him in to daycare. I called them this morning and since he had a solid poop when he woke up, they said I could bring him in. She did mention she noticed he kept putting his fingers in his mouth on Friday so she figured he was about to start teething and molars were going to be coming soon.

Would you give your DC Pedialyte just in case or water would be enough? I just don’t want him to get dehydrated with these hot days coming up if the diarrhea does continue. DH said his diaper was so heavy this morning when he changed him. It was bulging because it was soaked.

Pedialyte wouldn't hurt, so if he will take it, I'd give him some here and there just in case...

Thanks for the response. DH thinks I’m crazy but I can’t help but worry. He’s going to be outside at daycare this week so I’m extra worried that he will get dehydrated.
