diarrhea and daycare - send DS or not?
ETA: Thanks everyone - I'm keeping DS home tomorrow....
DS has had the worst case of diarrhea today along with a NASTY diaper rash. Other than that, and major crying at each diaper change, which has been hourly today, he's fine. No fever, no vomiting.... acting completely normal and happy. His appetite is a little down, but that's the only sign I can see that he isn't feeling 100%. With that being said, I don't know if I should I send him to daycare tomorrow. WWYD?
Staying home isn't a problem - but I would much prefer to send him to daycare so I don't have to make sub plans (those of you who are teachers can relate!)
Please share your opinions - I'm completely on the fence here. TIA!
ETA: DS is 12 months old.

Are we talking constant diarrhea or just one episode???
If it happened several times today, then its probably a stomach bug...to be fair to all the other children in the classroom; I would keep him home!

What is your day cares policy?
If he has it that much he will have it there too so they will probably send him home and if they have a 24 hour policy then he will be out Tuesday too. So I would keep him home.

I am not a teacher but totally understand the idea of not being at work and having someone cover for you, etc...hmmmm I think DD's daycare says they have to be diarrhea free for 24 or 48 hrs...I think I would play it by ear and see how the night goes....at worst case if you send him and daycare calls you when you are at work you can leave right? Do you think he ate something that is bothering him or maybe teething?? AWW his poor tushy!!! DD is 13 months...good age right!!

I've changed his diaper at least 15 times today. Sometimes, it was watery diarrhea - other times it was loose stool. It's been pretty bad and often all day. But just before bed, it was much firmer than the others had been. I think the rash is bothering him more than the diarrhea.
I agree, I think it might be best to keep him home. I just wasn't sure if I was overreacting about it or not. Thanks!

I just looked up the policy... 24 hrs diarrhea free. Looks like I'm calling the sub registry and emailing plans. Thanks ladies!
