In general, I prefer Target. I hate going into a Walmart but for a really good deal I would deal with it if needed.
As far as return policy, Target is not so great.

If its something major and I want it to last I always go to Target. If I am shopping for misc little things I go to Walmart. There's something about the Target quality that I think is a little better. JMO.

Since the question is "which has better customer service"...hands down its walmart. You can return anything there. WHich one do I like better???...Target.

Target is a nightmare!
I was charged an electronic re-stocking fee for leap frog marraccas! 12.00 toy. got 8.50 back for it.
Walmart is so good with returns.

I have had difficulties returning things at Target without a receipt. (gifts) With a receipt either store is fine for me.
