I had to set aside towels I';d only use w/ it b/c it does bleach fabric.

I had luck w/ it, after a while of using it. After a while, it just stopped working for me and I broke out horribly.

I've been going to a derm and w/ insurance, its probably even less $$

Re: Talk to me about ProActiv

I have extremely fair and sensitive skin and Proactiv is the ONLY thing that has ever worked for me. I've been to countless dermatologists, many different medications, etc. I'm PCOS and even on the pill my skin was a mess. But Proactiv makes my skin very clear!

Re: Talk to me about ProActiv

I love proactive - I've been using it for years but only during a breakout. I wouldn't use it everyday b/c it dries out your skin. Yes, it does stain towels so I have a white one that I only use for proactive.

I also plateaued with Pro-Active, but I had good results at first. I switched to Retin-A Micro and never looked back. If you have insurance, I would recommend that. It is 10x better and cheaper if you have prescription coverage.

No only did it bleach my towels but it bleached my walls Chat Icon It did nothing for me just make my eyes swollen. I have had success lately with Neutrogenas Pore Refining Toner. It's the only thing that has been working! I went by a review on drugstore.com.

Re: Talk to me about ProActiv

It worked for about 5 days and then my skin was worse than ever.

The problem with it is that it only cures the acne you have. It doesn't really address the underlying cause. If you have an occasional breakout like around your period it's fine, but if you have consistent breakouts (like me, I have cystic acne) you're going to need something stronger, like a prescription.

I use the wash every day, the lotion only at night, and only when I need it. It warns on the bottle that it bleaches fabric, so be careful. I like it have used it for years.

Made my skin 10 times worse.

I've had much more success with Acne Free. You can get it on Amazon.

Re: Talk to me about ProActiv

I worked for me for me, about 90%.

I was just tired of paying for it, so I sort of made my own regime of products with similar ingredients & it worked about the same.

I had better luck with Neutrogena AntiWrinkle, Anti-Blemish cleanser and swithcing to Physicians Formula talc free make up.

I think the alpha hydroxies intended to fight wrinkles is what helped me. Proactive has it too, in the toner, I think.

Now I don't have to much of a problem, I think my skin just changed with age, but I do find using Bare Minerals skin rev-er upper helps a lot. I wear different make up now, and dont' have much of a problem unless I skip the revver-upper. It's not marketed as anti-acne, but it has salycic & glycolic acids, and works for me.

i swear by neutrogena skin ID. You fill out a form online and it recommends the products that work best for you. it is $$$ so i just checked the active ingredients in everything they recommended and went to CVS and bought the identical neutrogena products right off the shelf.
Hope this helps.

Same here. Then I got pregnant and my face was worse than ever. I tried everything once I gave birth (different face washes, prescriptions from derm, etc) and nother worked. I think it just had to run it's course b/c finally about 6 months ago (about 15 months post partum) my skin got much better and only get the occasional breakouts now.

Re: Talk to me about ProActiv

I had some underground pimples due to bc and bought proactiv b/c nothing was helping. This stuff literally burned my face and took off the whole top layer of skin on my entire face. I returned it. Took them 6 months to refund my money, return policy stinks!
