Re: Talk to me about double strollers
I dread a double-stroller. I love love love my Bumbleride Rocket for DS so I was considering this when #2 comes.

Re: Talk to me about double strollers
I am just going to get a buggy board for my Bugaboo. Noah likes going in his pushchair, but he will probably love standing on a board also. Or I might get this one with the seat

Re: Talk to me about double strollers
Genevieve was only 15 months when Billy was born, and I think we used the double stroller 10 times MAX! I would definitely go with a sit n stand for now, and then maybe get a double umbrella for when you absolutely need it!

Re: Talk to me about double strollers
This was my experience: My DDs are 20 mos. apart. DD#1 HATED the stroller, so I knew a double would be an absolute waste. I got a Sit and Stand--and even at 20 mos. she did great. However...I generally only used it to walk to the park or our local grocery store. I never put in my trunk or used it in a store--I was worred it would be too cumbersome to use by myself.
Instead I trained DD to always hold on to her sister's stroller if we went to CVS or something. If we went food shopping or Target then no problem--the cart held both of them. When we went to Philadelphia or Sesame Place, we had a small umbrella for DD#1, so we both ended up pushing a DD. I think this really depends on your kid, though. My little one is 21 mos. now and I can't IMAGINE her holding onto a stroller!!
Sooo...after all this...I think your best bet at your DS's age would be the Sit and Stand.

Re: Talk to me about double strollers
Marron will be just 3 when #2 is born. I'd love to get the sit n stand but I really don't think Marron will sit on that little jump seat. I also don't think she'd like sitting backwards.
After looking at the sit n stand elite on the one step ahead site, I'm thinking that might be just what we need. The only think I'm not crazy about is that the tray in the front sticks out when it is closed.
I still really like the Quattro Tour Duo, I'm just not sure about the weight of it.

Re: Talk to me about double strollers
To tell you the truth, I got a really nice double stroller and it sits in my car--lol I never really need it, I got it for big trips like if we take them to the zoo or something like that. I got a snap and go for Todd Jr and it was great cause Julia hates being in the stroller anyway, and she would just walk next to me. If I'm out with DH, he puts Julia in her umbrella stroller and I put Todd Jr in his maclaren.

Re: Talk to me about double strollers
I got the Peg Perego Duette and returned it! Too big. I ended up getting the Maclaren double stroller (side by side). I never needed a double stroller when DD was in the infant seat, I just used the snap/go or my Pliko 3
Like MeltoddJulia, I rarely use the double stroller (only for big trips) either Anthony walks next to us or he goes in the single Maclaren umbrella stroller and Mattea is inthe pliko 3. (since it has the snack tray)

Re: Talk to me about double strollers
I was always a HUGE fam of my sit and stand! Mine are exactly 2 years apart and I got at least 2 years of use out of it! I will be selling it soon, I will be sad to see it go.

Re: Talk to me about double strollers
My two boys are 27 months apart and I wasn't going to get a double stroller but I am so glad that I did. I have a front to back and still use it. My older was is 3 and the baby will be a year in a few weeks.

Re: Talk to me about double strollers
I used a Sit N Stand (which I LOVED) and a double jogger for walks in the neighborhood.
Don't have the jogger any more, but if you want to tryout the sit n stand you are more than welcome to come and look at it.

Same here. I got a hand me down Maclaren double stroller (side by side). Most of the time I used the Snap n Go for Jack and Hannah walked. I only used the double for shopping or long walks which was only a few times so far and Jack is 8 months!!!
ETA DD was 18 months when DS was born.

Re: Talk to me about double strollers
Mine are 2yrs, 7months apart and I have a Sit and Stand. The Compagno from Mia Moda. It's a bit heavy but I thought it was cuter than the regular Sit and Stand I have it in Mint Java.

Re: Talk to me about double strollers
i am planning (i think!) to get the newest Joovy Ergo double stroller. DD can sit in the front while baby #2 is in the carrier-then once baby#2 is old enough to be out of the carrier and in the stroller-older DD can sit and stand. i know thats confusing but it looks like the best plan to me! DD is your DS's age and still like the stroller but probably won't for long.

Not PG here but already know our strategy if we have a #2.
If DS was 2, I would get a double stroller.
I would most likely get PG after DS is 2 so I would go for a sit and stand version. They make a "deluxe" with 2 seats and you can remove the 2nd seat to make it a sit and stand.
If DS was 3, I would get just a sit and stand (the regular one).
what if ds was exactly 2.5 when baby #2 was born ? this is my situation
mine too and don't know what to do!!

I love love love this stroller - never saw it in person, but with the carrycot for the baby!
LOVE LOVE LOVE
FYI, mamabargains.com had that recently, so it's a good possibility they might have it again at a great price.
