Same here! After what seemed like a bazzillion sippy cups, this is the one that Samantha finally took to.

I'm now trying to switch over to a straw sippy.

we use the gerber one with the handles and she loves it. It has a soft spout that she tries to chew on also..

Re: Starter Sippy Cup??

My DD actually took a while to figure out how to draw the liquid up in the sippy. She usually would chew the spout and get nowhere. I actually ended up buying "The First Years Take n Toss" sippy cups (5 for like $3) because they have no stopper. The first few times she choked a little on the water but in no time she got the hang of the sippy. I let her use those for a few weeks and then switched her over to regular sippy cups and she was able to drink from those with no problem. I think she just needed the practice with a cup that allowed the liquid to flow more easily. Soon after she started using the straw cups too.

Edit - Once she went to regular sippy cups I used the Playtex brand ones. With and without handles.

This one and the Munchkin one worked really well when DS first started sippy cups.
