Best starter sippy cup?
I want to introduce my almost 8 month old to a sippy cup. I don't know which one to buy. Any suggestions? TIA

Re: Best starter sippy cup?
honestly it's trial and error. My ds likes the nuby kind, but didn't right away. Now i'm trying to get him to use a straw sippy.

Re: Best starter sippy cup?
we skipped sippy cups and went to open cups then straw cups. DD likes Nuby. Now if she would only drink milk out of them and not just water!

We tried a ton before we found one she liked and the winner was Nuby.

Re: Best starter sippy cup?
Nuby was the best starter sippy cup for us because of the soft spout. Once DS started ripping through them with his teeth, I switched to Playtex and it's been much better!
It is all trial and error though. We bought one or two from a couple different brands to see which one worked with DS the best. Munchkin worked good for him too.

Nuby- another winner.
I think its the soft mouth piece that helps in transition.

Re: Best starter sippy cup?
DD only uses the Take and Toss cups.
We tried Avent, Dr. Browns, Playtex, Nuby, and Born Free.
She also didn't want anything to do with the cup until 11 months.

Re: Best starter sippy cup?
IMO this is the most like a bottle and very easy to adjust to, and it does not leak. It is now available BPA FREE

We used Born Free bottles for DD, so we use the Born Free sippy cups. So far, so good!

Re: Best starter sippy cup?
I've bought a million of them, he's just not quite ready yet. But this week he seems to do best with the Gerber Sip and Smile. He also like the straw cups.

Re: Best starter sippy cup?
Nuby and Munchkin were Lily's favorites. But the Nuby ones were a little trickier, and sometimes leaked, so now she's strictly a Munchkin girl!
I would buy a variety and keep offering them until you find one that works. Be warned...it can take months!

Re: Best starter sippy cup?
My baby just turned 8 months old & she has been using the Born Free starter sippy cup. It doesnt spill and comes with a removable handle so she can either hold it by the handles or hold it like a bottle.
