anyone else have a baby dislike the sippy cup?
my 9 month old only likes to use those take and toss sippy cups .....and she isnt even really getting much from it. All other sippy cups she refuses she just plays with them like a toy.....i keep the 1 sippy that she does use the right way, out all day long as she plays and with her meals so she always has it available... At what age did your babies stop the bottle....i know that its best that by the 1st birthday to be totally weaned off the bottle, but im afraid my baby will not get enough formula that she needs. I tried apple juice diluted with water also but she only takes 1 sip and thats it, doesnt matter whats in the cup! just wondering when some of your babies started using the sippy cup on a regular basis

Julia has been drinking from a sippy cup for 2 months now and she will be a year in 2 weeks. I got her the Nuby sippy cup and she loves it, its soft like a bottle nipple and I BF her so she took to that sippy right away, no problems.

I have been trying to get Ryan to drink from a sippy cup for 6 months. I don't know what I'm going to do. He has his 12 month check up on Mon and I'm sure the Dr will tell me to try & stop the bottle.
He plays with it and throws it on the floor. Any suggestions?

i tried the nuby too....she doesnt like it! most of you are saying between 10-12 months is when your babies were consistant with their sippy cup so maybe we arent up to that yet...i guess i will keep trying with all the cups i do have and since 2 of you said your babies liked the nuby i will keep trying with that one too...thanks for your help! i guess i will worry when it gets closer to her 1st birthday!

I've tried almost all the sippies and kevin just bites the mouthpiece and plays with it like a toy. I'm at my wits end because he is alos starting to refuse the bottle.

Ryan doesn't like the nuby either. I really don't know what to do. He turned 1 yesterday

Honestly I'm not really pushing the sippy cup I give him water in it but he just plays with it.
I really don't see anything wrong with the fact that he still uses a bottle so I am not rushing. I still see 2 and three year olds with bottles.
I will probably start offering it more after he turns 1.

that's true - I just hear that a lot of Dr's want them off the bottle by 1 
I'll let you know what my Dr. said on Monday for Ryan's 12 month check up

i guess we are all in the same boat here with our babies playing with the cups like toys...i guess every baby will take the cup when they are ready....i have the 9 month visit this monday, i am wondering if the dr will bring it up about the cup and me starting her on it ...which i have since she is 6 months...guess i will hear what he has to say about it, i mean how can you push your child to take the sippy cup?! just like you really cant push certain foods if they just dont like it. did anyones dr tell them yet that they HAVE to be off that bottle by 1? i just know its suggested but just wondering if anyones dr actually said to do it

Jacob is the same way... He plays with the sippy cup like a toy.. It is very furstrating to me but I guess when he is ready he will learn how to use it...
My doctor was not pushing the sippy until 12 months but she said I could try if I want to...
I am glad we are not the only ones with this problem... It makes me feel alot better that I am not doing something wrong..
