Re: Square footage of your home?

1290 plus a full basement and a full walk-up attic. Neither of those are counted in the square footage count.

If I had to guess, I'd say it's about 2300 total

This post reminds me of a post back on LIW n 05. The question was..... How many carats is your ring?

A lot of girls were offened by the question. I guess b/c it's totally irrelevant.

I know the question was sincerely asked just out of pure curiousity. But I couldn't help to think of the other post.

Not sure how much sq footage we have in the end. We're in the middle of renovating. I do know that our taxes are going to go though.

Oh I soooo remember those LIW cat fights about the # of carats. I was really asking just out of curiosity and nothing more.

On a side note- The carat fights back in the day, now those were funny. You could have a 1 carat ring and have paid just as much as someone's 5 carat.

No harm, so please don't take offense Ladies.

1500 + 750 basement

We're having plans drawn up by an architect to bump up the house to about 2700 + 1350 basement.

about 1800? no basement. not including garage.

and its pleanty for me DH and the dog.

I dont think people take offense to these posts as much as teh carat thing - for one - you really pay for the location of your house, not the size. We all know the girls OOS paid less (for the most part!) for their house as the LI-ers did and they are double the size.

Re: Square footage of your home?

the house we will be moving into is about 2000 square feet of living space (that doesn't include 2 car garage, tiny unfinished laundry room or bathrooms, if i am correct). it's a high ranch so no basement.

that's why I am taking a step in between

apartment now- 850 sq ft
new apartment- 1500 sq ft (2 bathrooms- double cleaning)

then I would like our house to be at least 2500 sq ft is we stay in NY

and much bigger if we move (but I doubt we are moving)
