Re: SPR: Taking shoes off
I don't but in all seriousness, that's just plain old inconsiderate.. that's just basic common sense to take off WET and DIRTY shoes/etc. before going in.

Re: SPR: Taking shoes off
Yup! I'm a neat nut. Totally laid back with everything, but everyone knows I have the "no shoe" policy in my home.
Especially on days like today
Got even more strict when DS was crawling on the floor
If we're entertaining a bunch of friends then that's another story. For family or just a friend or two coming over then it's "shoe's off" big crowd we're entertaining... no biggie. I'll do a big mop that night or the next day

Re: SPR: Taking shoes off
We don't ask but in this weather it's just common sense...especially with a crawling baby.

Re: SPR: Taking shoes off
If it is particularly nasty out/raining/snowing, then yes, I will ask people to take their shoes off.
Generally, I do not. But most people see my entranceway and that we leave our shoes there, so they will typically take them off when they come in without me having to ask.

Re: SPR: Taking shoes off
I tried to enforce it once DS was crawling, and our house is tiny....so as soon as you walk in the door you're IN our living room. I couldn't even get it through DHs head to do it...he can't stand being bear footed. So...now he changes his shoes as soon as he walks in... but that's it. I usually just keep the swifter by the door and once they come in and go where they want...I just swifter it up
