And my favorite song as a kid? "Physical" by Olivia Newton-John. I thought it was about exercising.
omg I thought the same thing!!
OMG I remember being in first or second grade and I had the "Great Shape Barbie" (this was a Barbie all ready to do aerobics back in the 80s with her full length leotard, leg warmers, and sweatband), and when the song Physical would come on the radio I'd have Great Shape Barbie dance around like she was exercising.
Guess what I really needed to act out the song was a Ken.

In Spongebob's defense isn't "Section 8" also the military discharge for someone unfit to serve due to mental illness? I remember the old M*A*S*H shows, Klinger was always hoping for a section 8...
See now thats the comparision I got, since Mr. Krabs was a military man
Do I live in a hole? What else does Section 8 mean????

Re: Spongebob . . .
I dislike the show also. I refuse to let the kids watch it.
I also don't care for the fact that they have recently discovered Tom and Jerry. I honestly didn't realize how violent that show is until a couple of weeks ago. They think it's hilarious

Not a fan either. My kids like it - as do all of their friends...sigh...
Wait until iCarly when they start talking about hobos.

Re: Spongebob . . .
My DD doesn't watch it (she's only 16m) but in all honesty, I think Sponge Bob is absolutely hilarious!! I roll on the floor laughing every time I watch it. That being said, I am not the "PC" type who gets offended by everything so the jokes in that show don't bother me in the least. I take it for what it's worth........humor.
Now, would I let my DD watch it as she gets older??.........I don't know, probably not but even if she did the jokes would be SO over her head she would have no clue what they are saying anyway. It's a cleverly funny show......for goodness sake, they live in "Bikini Bottom".....you should guess from that alone the humor is going to be a bit more on the mature side. I do think it's subtle in that kids would never catch on to the humor in what is being said. Just my opinion though.

Re: Spongebob . . .
I'll take Spongebob over Yo Gabba Gabba anyday She watches it but doesn't really get the humour and it's not one of her all time favorites. It's more of a watch to watch when nothing is on type program.
